UT-Dallas wins with a dramatic 2½-1½ match win over UMBC. It came down to
Davorin Kuljasevic - Pawel Blehm, with UTD ahead by ½ point. Kuljasevic up a few too many pawns in a Knight Vs Bishop ending won to give UTD the championship this year

All matches will take place in the UMBC Game Room (Commons Building, 2nd Floor). 

 Friday, April 4

            7pm, Team Dinner (private)

 Saturday, April 5

            10am, Opening Ceremony, Game Room

            10am-3pm, Round 1 (Commentary in Room 329)

            5pm-10pm, Round 2 (Commentary in Room 329)

 Sunday, April 6

            9am-2pm, Round 3 (Commentary in Room 329)

            12-2pm, UMBC Chess Club Alumni Reception, Flat Tuesday (lower level)

            2pm, Tie-Breaking “6-5min Shootout match,” if needed

            2:30pm Closing Ceremony, Game Room

            3pm Adjourn

               
               


Commentary

Throughout each round, International Grandmaster Sam Palatnik will provide free move-by-move commentary in Room 329.  (No player is allowed on the 3rd floor while his or her game is in progress.)  Master players and above who would like to volunteer to be additional commentators should contact Dr. Sherman.
