| With the release of the Microsoft
Visual Studio.NET 2005, .NET development has been taken to the next level. My experience with Visual Studio.NET 2003 and ASP.NET 1.x has enabled me to learn the building blocks and take full advantage of the many new features and ease-of-use enhancements to design and manage high quality applications. I offer programming and consulting services in the
following related technologies listed below. |
| Web Services |

HTML |
I began hand-coding HTML using Notepad. |
| 1997 |

I served as Co-Director of the First Annual
Multi-Cultural Internet Conference in San Diego, CA. |
| 1998 |
ISP |
I worked as a technical assistant at an Internet
Service Provider learning the ins and outs of issues such as
bandwidth, server loads, download time, and browser compatibility. |
| 1999 |
Consultant |
By this time, I was managing several web site, doing
updates, creating graphics in PhotoShop, and building ASP applications. I
designed a shopping cart, wrote SQL and also learned the issues of Search
Engine placement. |
| 2000 |
Engineer |
Using DHTML, Java Script, HTML and PhotoShop, I
engineered the user interface for a broadband wireless provider's
web-based Base Station software. |
| 2001 - Present |
Programmer/ Webmaster/
Consultant |
Working part-time at a southern California law school,
I program stand-alone Visual Basic.NET & ASP.NET applications, write SQL statements and
stored procedures and manage their web sites. Using JavaScript, Active
Server Pages, DHTML, Remote Scripting, T-SQL, and Visual Studio.NET I
created a WYSIWYG content
management system for departmental personnel to make changes to their web
pages. I also have created a .NET interface with the student database
for students to access their grades, schedule, and other functions within an
authenticated web environment. |

| SQL Server |

I believe a key component of
successful database design is implementing the business logic, by
communicating with the people involved in the business, and then
optimizing that design according to the technical efficiency of the
database technology. Using primary and foreign keys to create a
relational database is a must. But so is the right use of
tables. Sometimes, it is better to keep data together in one
table, than simply to place it in another.
I also am
experienced in connecting SQL server databases to web pages
through Visual Studio.NET. I have created the ability for
students to authenticate and check their grades and schedules from a
web interface, as well as sign up to be on a roommate list and browse
current listings of other roommates.I believe in the importance of
security in today's internet climate. That is why I encrypted
all of the sensitive data in the student database, and believe that
this needs to be a primary concern of all businesses. Further, I
recommend reviewing all data entry points for validation as well as
allotting the least necessary privileges for database groups and users
to prevent SQL injection attacks.

| Web Pages |
 | |
Programming and designing a
web interface involves the interplay of both programming and
functionality and creative display. As an experienced web
programmer, I am able to connect a back-end database, such as MS SQL
and MS ACCESS to a web's front-end.
Further, the creative
display of returned data (or a recordset) is an integral factor to a
web site's success in retaining the interest and attention of the
end user.
My skillset includes the use of the creative
elements of GUI (Graphical User Interface) design such as graphic
development, page layout and color management.
The successful
web site is a compilation of certain indispensable and cohesive
elements. Grasping and managing these elements requires a thorough
understanding of the fundamental aspects of the
Internet.
There is no plug and play program available to the
relatively young Internet which is capable of grasping and
developing all of the interactive features and requirements of web
development. Active Server Pages (ASP), Java Script, Cascading Style
Sheets (CSS) and HTML are all important in building a creative, successful
and interactive web site.
