Thomas N. Reese and his wife Daily were living in Webster County Missouri where they were born, with their three little daughters, Tura, Opal and Pearl.

From Bolivar Missouri, Elbert and his brother David joined the other brother Tom in Pawnee, OK, in 1905. The leased a farm in the Lone Jack neighborhood. In January 1907 Elbert's long time sweetheart, Lula Knost, came by train to Pawnee. They were married at the Rambo Rooms in Pawnee by the Rev. M.F. Ingraham, Minister of the Christian Church. David, Elbert and Lula lived on the Lone Jack farm through that crop year. Then both David and Elbert leased farms in Eagle Township. Elbert and Lula lived in a log cabin. Their first two children, Irene and Harold were born there, in 1912 they moved to the adjoining farm which was owned by the then well-known baseball player Moses Yellowhorse. There second son George was born there. Later they moved back to the Lone Jack neighborhood and lived on a farm owned by Charlie Buzan. There youngest child Elmer was born there. While they lived here, Elbert's cousin Lula Reese came from Kansas and taught at the Lone Jack School. Some of their neighbors were the Myers, Lady, Wilkerson, Weiss, Rau, Haga, Heisler, Garner and Lizar families. Feeling the need to change, they sold their farm animals and equipment in the fall of 1915. By January 1916 there (sic) were living in Pawnee. The Oliver, Griesel, Wolfe, Turner, Tanner, Walker and Buzan families were some of their neighbors. The children attended the beautiful old sandstone school building where were then housed grades one through twelve. The family attended the First Christian Church during the pastorate of Rev. A. J. Bradshaw. Wile the fine stone building was being erected, services were held in a hastily erected tabernacle. Elbert owned and operated several businesses. The family moved from Pawnee in 1921, but Pawnee has continued to hold a warm place in their hearts.
He was married to Louise "Lula" Catherine KNOST on Jan 9 1907 in Rambos Room, Pawnee, OT (now Oklahoma). came from Missouri in 1905, Married by the Rev. M.F. Ingraham, Minister of the Christian Church.
