Catching up on my mail. I checked your web page. My favorite thing on your page is you
with your 7 living grandmothers. It's priceless!
I looked through all your REESE names. Couldn't match any of them :( I did check out your
link to James Muse. I did find a common ancestor there.
I descend from siblings Susannah and Charles Reese, Jr. Susannah married David Watie and
they were the parents of Elias "Buck" Boudinot. Elias was the father of William
Penn Boudinot. Charles, Jr. married Nellie McCoy, who were the parents of Eleanor
"Ellen" Reese. William Penn Boudinot and Ellen Reese (first cousins once
removed) were married.

Two of our grandfathers (probably three) fought in the Revolution. I was at the Cowpens
battle field last month and saw evidence that Joseph Rees and Baylis Earle both fought
there in 1780. Baylis Earle was later a 'justice' and, over a jug of whiskey with three
other justices in 1787,
picked the site of the court house for the new county of Spartanburg. The site is/was next
to a farmer's spring. The spring is now in the basement of a fine restaurant and under the
west end of the bar. Upon the first re-visit to
Spartanburg by our line of Reeses in 212 years, my friends 'made' me take an after-dinner
shot of Jack Daniels at the west end of the bar.
