Today we had planned to walk around a little with our guide but Trish wakes up with a cough and very sore throat. Allergies and smog aren't helping the sinus infection she has. We decide to just stay in for the day and try to rest some. After breakfast, Tim decided to tackle the laundry. There is laundry service at the hotel, but is expensive so we decide to try the small self-service laundry at the hotel. There is only one dryer, so it takes Tim most of the morning to finish.
Kendall and Trish stay in the room and play. Trish tries to rest some but that is difficult. Kendall watches an Elmo DVD that we brought sitting on the bed while Mommy lies down next to her. She is not to sure about this arrangement, but plays with her toys and eats some snacks. She has become very fond of her snacks and wants to eat them all day long.
Later in the morning Trish and Kendall play with her toys and play a little peek-a-boo. Kendall likes this game and even laughs a little bid. She also says Momma for the first time, but only says it once. She eats some lunch, a jar of mixed vegetables and a whole banana. She still wants snacks after that and has given herself a tummy ache.
Daddy comes back with all the laundry and we eat some lunch and try to rest. Kendall is very tired but won't sleep. She has become very distraught about Daddy being there and cries anytime he even looks at her. We will have to work on this!! We finally had to take the snacks away because her little belly is just bulging. She seems to find comfort in eating, but does not know when to stop! We give her some baby gas medicine and hope this will help her tummy ache. She will fall asleep when Mommy is holding her but will not lie down in her crib without screaming as if we are torturing her. We try to settle her down but she only gets louder and more wound up. So, Mommy gives in and holds her. She never really sleeps for long and is grumpy the rest of the day.
Tim rests some and Trish tries, but it hard holding Kendall. After Daddy gets up we try to play some more but Kendall is very grumpy and cries at everything. She got upset about her snack again and cries for what seems an eternity. Her nose is running and her eyes seem puffy from all the crying today. It is finally time for some dinner so Daddy feeds her some rice and she likes it. She will let Daddy feed her but that is about it. If he tries to hold her she screams and pulls her body away from him. We hope this will get better before we have to get on a plane Saturday, but we will have to wait and see.
After dinner we give Kendall a bath, which she tolerates much better today. Then we fix her some of her formula and Mommy rocks her a bit. She is doing well with the cups we brought but tonight she is mainly chewing on the cup and not getting much milk. She finally settles down and falls asleep, limp from exhaustion. Mommy heads to bed after that, very tired too. Tim feels a little helpless in trying to help with Kendall since she won't let him hold her or touch her. We'll keep trying having Daddy feed her and hold her a little at a time and see if that helps. It could be a very long plane ride home if this doesn't get better by next week!!
