WILL OF SUSANNAH [MORRIS] ELMORE MEADORS
In the name of God amen, I Susanah Meadors of
State [of South Carolina] and District [of Laurens] aforesaid, being sick in
body but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding Thanks be to God
for the same, Do make and Devise and bequeath to my son Ruben Meadors the tract
of Land I now live on forever being about ninty acres more or Less, adn all the
growing Crop at this time or at the time of my Death Also three horse Creatures
being two mars and one horse also my Waggon and gears and all my plantation
tools of every kind, also I give and bequeath unto my grand Daughtor Anne
Meadors Daughter of my son Ruben Meadors my side saddle, I give and bequeath
unto my sons Jason and John Meadors, all the money that Jason owes me to be
equely Devided between them, also I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Ann
Sexon[sic] wife of James Sexon Esq. all my wearing apparel - and I do hereby
order my son Ruben Meadors to pay all my lawful debts out of the property above
willed to him. And I do hereby nominate
constitute and appoint my son Ruben Meadors sole Executor of this my last will
and testament, hereby revoking and making void all and every will or wills at
any time heretofore by me made, and Do Declare this to be my last will and
testament. In Witness whereof I the said
Susanah Meadors have here unto set my hand and Seal this Eighteenth day of July
in the Year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty three.
