TROPICAL GEM EXPLORATIONS

"Honduras Opal Specialists"

Honduras produces a variety of precious opals
and we carry both rough and polished material.

*SEAM OPALS*

The most valuable gems are the Black Seam Opals from the Tablon Mine. Priced from $10 to $5000 per carat. These opals are found in thin veins throughout the rock and are cut with the natural basalt matrix still attached to form the back. They are very similar to Australian Boulder Opals.

*ANDESITE OPALS*

These fascinating opals come from the Colinas Mine. Base colors range from milky white through crystal clear to a fine sky blue. The blue opals are the most valuable. They are usually polished with portions of the andesitic matrix rock still attached. Priced from $10.00 to $600.00 per carat.

*BLACK MATRIX OPALS*

These gems are a natural blend of precious opal and vesicular black basalt. These stones come from the Tablon Mine. Although they do not attain the value of solid black opals they can be quite beautiful. Priced from $10.00 to $150.00 per carat.

*SOLID LIGHT, CRYSTAL AND BLUE OPALS*

These opals come from both the Colinas and Tablon Mines. The best stones rival the finest the world has to offer. Gems are priced from $10.00 to $1000.00 per carat.
