What Is TRRACK/DRC?

DRC, in this case, stands for the Derby Running Club. Started in 1981 by a handful of avid Derby runners, the club has grown remarkably to over 200 members from all over Kansas and surrounding states. The stated goal of the Derby Running Club was, and continues to be, to promote and support the sport of running and road racing in Derby and surrounding areas. Our goal has always been to provide high quality road racing experiences for all who participate in our events. The thousands of runners who have participated in our races can attest to the fact that our goals have been attained.

The Derby Running Club was organized and continues to be maintained as a non-profit Kansas corporation.

Initially, membership in the club involved only those who worked on races and participated in our weekend morning workouts and social gatherings.

While all of these activities are still open to whoever wishes to become involved, we feel that we can still offer everything that a true running club should.

In 1994, the Derby Running Club expanded its horizons through the formation of T.R.R.A.C.K., which stands for The Road Racing Association of Central Kansas. By expanding our role from a local to a more regional organization, we found ourselves able to expand, yet again, the support roles for which we have become so well known.

The expansion of timing and race direction for area races, a more comprehensive newsletter with schedule information and complete course certification services, has allowed us to be of more service to the running community.
