Skirt section, made in fibreglass, freshly 'pulled' from the mold,
is lightly sanded, top and bottom plywood inserts fitted and cut
out ( the disc cut from the top insert will be used elsewhere on
the prop) then painted. Colors used over gray primer were
Rustoleum Gold metallic, top coated with clear lacquer for
protection ( metallic paint tend to dull over time), the resulting
finish was a very satisfactory rendition of the movie original.
