Alice Kogan Weinreb, flute

Alice Kogan Weinreb is a member of the National Symphony Orchestra and has performed as a soloist with the orchestra at the Kennedy Center. She is co-principal flutist of Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, and   premiered the Truman Harris Flute Concerto with  the ensemble.  She serves on the faculty of the Catholic University of America and teaches in the NSO Youth Fellowship program. In the summer, she performs at the Grand Teton Music Festival in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  Ms. Weinreb studied in France under a Fulbright fellowship and was awarded first prize in flute at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. She is the featured artist on two recordings of works by Margaret Brouwer, Crosswinds on CRI and Light on New World Records.

Kathleen Golding, oboe

Kathleen Golding is a member of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra and the National Gallery Orchestra. She is also principal oboe of the Washington Concert Opera and a faculty member at American University. Ms. Golding has participated in the Marlboro Music Festival and can be heard in performances recorded on the Smithsonian and Musical Heritage labels. Washington audiences have heard her as a soloist at the The Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Library of Congress and the Terrace Theatre.

Lora Ferguson, clarinet

Lora Ferguson is assistant principal clarinet with the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, a position she has held since 1980.  She appears often in concert  with  many of the chamber music groups in the  Washington area.  She  enjoys  teaching  and  is a member of the  faculty at the  Levine School of Music, George Mason University and The George Washington University.

Truman Harris, bassoon

Truman Harris is assistant principal bassoon with the National Symphony Orchestra, and performs frequently with Eclipse Chamber Orchestra. He is an instructor at The Catholic University of America. Also a composer & arranger, his Prelude was performed by the National Symphony under Leonard Slatkin in February, 1996. His Suite for Wind Quintet was premiered in 1997 by the Capitol Woodwind Quintet & Truman's Concertinos for Flute and Chamber Orchestra and Horn and Chamber Orchestra were premiered by Alice Weinreb & Laurel Ohlson and Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Sylvia Alimena. He maintains the CWQ web site as well as Bassoon.org, and Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, and is married to Laurel Ohlson.

Laurel Bennert Ohlson, horn

Laurel Ohlson has held the position of Associate Principal Horn with the National Symphony Orchestra since 1980.  She is a member of the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra and Monarch Brass Quintet.  Ms. Ohlson has appeared as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra and the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, and has presented clinics and recitals at International Horn Society Workshops and International Women's Brass Conferences.  She has been on the Board of Directors of the IWBC since 1991, and is currently Vice-President of that organization.  A graduate of Boston University's School for the Arts, Ms. Ohlson majored in horn performance with a minor in mathematics.
