The Florida Professional Firefighters (FPF) is proud to announce its first statewide fundraiser with the
"The Boat of Heroes."
Florida's Firefighters are on the front line everyday, protecting citizens from the daily hazards of car wrecks, wildfires, heart attacks, and house fires. At the same time, America's soldiers stand on guard across the globe protecting us and providing the freedom we so dearly covet. Unfortunately, some of our soldiers suffer injuries that have the potential to ruin the lives of our brave soldiers. These brave warriors need the support of everyone in their attempts to recover and get back to living their lives.
Your $5 donation will not only give you an opportunity to win The Boat of Heroes, but will assist Florida's Firefighters in raising money for an extremely important organization, The Wounded Warrior Project, a foundation that assists our wounded soldiers as they return home from overseas.
The Wounded Warrior Project began when several individuals took small, inspired actions to help others in need. One night while watching the evening news, veterans and brothers were moved by stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq. They realized that something needed to be done for these brave individuals beyond the brass bands and ticker tape parades. They wanted to provide tangible support for the severely wounded to help them on the road to heal both physically and mentally. What they viewed as a small contribution compared with what the warriors had sacrificed, is now WWP's signature program; WWP backpacks delivered bedside to wounded warriors.
The mission of The Wounded Warrior Project is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women, to help severely injured service members aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.
