HOGAN SCHOOL OF TrADITIONAL IRISH DANCE

Allison Hogan, TCRG

About Us

Our focus at the Hogan School is to provide quality dance instruction to create well-rounded dancers. We seek to develop dancers with a vast knowledge and understanding of music, solo dances, group dances, competition style and performance style.  To achieve this goal, we provide an atmosphere which values and emphasizes quality (in form, technique, and presentation), team spirit, and innovation, and encourages participation in a variety of dance events and experiences including competitions, shows, workshops, and dance camps.  We encourage our students to take pride in their efforts and strive to reach their full potential.  As we believe that a solid foundation is created through mastery of the basics, students are expected to meet rigorous standards in order to progress through the levels.  These standards allow students to experience the joy which results from hard work and dedication, and also ensure they are prepared to meet the challenges of each new level with confidence.

Instructor, Allison Hogan, TCRG

Allison has been involved in the Irish Dance community for over 20 years.  She started Irish dancing at the age of 5 and enjoyed many successes as a solo and team dancer with the Butler School of Irish Dance under Sheila Butler-Duffy, ADCRG.  As the instructor for the Hogan School of Irish Dance, she now imparts her love of Irish dance, music, culture, and tradition to students of all ages in the Gainesville area.  Allison is a fully accredited teacher, receiving her qualifications from the Irish Dance Commission in Dublin, Ireland in 2006.

Having moved to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida, Allison graduated summa cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in both Linguistics and Communication Sciences and Disorders.  In 2008 she completed her masters in speech-language pathology, and now practices part-time as a pediatric speech-language pathologist in addition to teaching dance.
