Fall 2009 Schedule

 

Tuesdays

3:30-5:00 Private lessons

5-5:45 Skills and Drills*

5:45-6:45 Intermediate (Advanced beginner/novice/prizewinner)

6:45-7:30 Performance troupe class**

 

Thursdays

3:30-4:00 Private lesson

4:00-5:00 Oireachtas (prizewinner/preliminary championship)

5:00-6:00 Beginners

6:00-7:00 Adults

7:00-7:30 Private lesson

 

Saturdays

9-12 Private lessons

 

Note: If after the registration period there is an overwhelming amount of beginners, the class will be split with children 9 & under attending from 5-5:45 on Thursdays and children 10 & over attending from 5:45-6:45.  Adult class would then be moved to 6:45-7:45.

 

*Skills and Drills is a class which focuses strictly on improvement of technique/form and mastery of technical moves.  It is open to all dancers in levels advanced beginner + up, and to beginner dancers at the discretion of the teacher.  Many dancers find this weekly class very helpful as it requires them to practice the difficult, yet essential aspects of Irish dance that are often neglected in at-home practice, and introduces them to a variety of new technical moves. 

 

**Performance Troupe class is for dancers interested in and committed to participating in major performances throughout the year.  It is open to dancers of all levels.  Dancers who are not in the performance troupe class will still have some opportunities to perform, though they will not learn the intricate choreography necessary to dance in the main numbers.
