Cutting Wedge          1990 Glass/Quartzite/Stainless Steel 25' x 81" x 41" Commissioned by Madison Square Partnership for Valley Parkway Health Center on East Valley Parkway in Escondido, California.  Implemented and coordinated by Joan Warren, The Annex Gallery, 453 Sixth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101, 619-531-0888. The Cutting Wedge was a very formal response to the architecture of this contemporary medical office building near the Palomar Hospital.  It was intended to act as the "prow" of the "ship" on a medical voyage, with the title being a somewhat whimsical play on words.
