The Foothill Ranch Library Oak Tree Gate 2002 Laser-cut Steel 10' x 10' Commissioned by the Orange County Public Library System for the FOOTHILL RANCH BRANCH LIBRARY in Lake Forest, CA. Implemented and coordinated by Robert R. Coffee, Architect, 3111 Second Avenue Suite 3, Corona Del Mar, CA 92625, 949-760-8668. The gate is constructed of laser cut steel that has been chemically oxidized and sealed with a preservative clear coat. In a desire to bring a bit of Lake Forest to the library, the Oak Tree seemed the logical choice as representative the past, present and future of the area. The trees, cactus and occasional farm relics populating the mountains and valleys around and throughout the community remind us of the rich rural and agricultural history alive in their rolling hills. Where better a place to remember and respect the foundations upon which the community was built than the local library? While looking at the "Foothill Ranch Library Oak Tree Gate" patrons of the library will remember and reflect on the local past. |
