This tutorial was written in PSP 7. See note below for PSP 6 info.

*NOTE: PSP6 users - for the grapevine you have two options, choose a brown color to draw with, OR choose a pattern and have it open on your desktop. Draw the vines with white then select them and flood fill with the pattern. The rest of the steps should work fine.
1. Start with a 400x400 transparent canvas.
2. Choose the donut pattern and have it in the top box under styles as shown to the right.

3. Select the draw tool draw tooland use these settings:

4. Draw an irregular circle shape on your canvas. Remember grapevines aren't perfect circles.:)
5. Go to EFFECTS - 3D EFFECTS - INNER BEVEL and apply these settings:
inner bevel

6. Add a layer and draw another irregular circle overlapping in places on the previous one. Apply inner bevel. Continue in this manner, adding a layer, drawing the circle, and applying inner bevel till you have 9 or 10 "vines". sample

7. You may want to hang some hearts on your wreath. These are hearts I made from a tutorial at Gina's PSP Tutorials. You can also use something of your own if you choose. Add a layer for each one and place them in the center of your wreath and add a drop shadow for each one. Add a layer and draw the strings for your hearts and add a drop shadow for them, too. sample2

8. Choose the color you want for your bow, using black as the foreground for the outline. Set the draw tool to 1 now so the outline will be very narrow.
9. Add a layer and draw one half of the loop by making a somewhat irregular oval, then without letting up on the tool go back the other way looping over the previous line. Keep the center lines from touching or it will fill in the entire center. This will give it the look of twisted ribbon.

10. Now do the loop on the other side, give it some tails using the same method, and add a little circle for the knot in the center. Now add a drop shadow. If you want more loops, add a layer and add and drag it under the first bow layer. Add some more loops and a drop shadow. bowsample2

11. Now to the ribbon around the wreath. Add a layer (drag it under the bow layers) and using the same method you used on the bow draw unevenly around the wreath and when you get to the starting point (don't touch the starting point, leave a gap as you did in step 9 for the bow) turn around and go back the other way, looping over the original line. bowsample3

12. To create the effect of the ribbon looping through the grapevine, lower the opacity of the ribbon so you can see the vine behind it and zoom in a bit. Erase pieces so it looks like it's going behind a vine. I set my eraser to size 3, hardness about 70, opacity and density 100. You don't need to do a lot of this to get the effect. before erasing after erasing

Return the opacity of the ribbon to 100. If you want a sheer ribbon lower the opacity on the bow to the same number. That's it! Now you've got a pretty grapevine wreath. Experiment with using different ribbons, maybe add some flowers. Have fun! :)
