Title

This is a tutorial is for making simple jewels. I've used the filters listed below, but many other filters may give some excellent results. I haven't found an alternative for Krusty's Filters yet, but Eye Candy 3-HSB Noise and Inner Bevel works well, too.

Filters used in this tutorial:
Eye Candy 4000
Krusty's FX vol.III 1.0 - Radial Texturizer
Blade Pro

1. Open a 300x300 transparent canvas.
2. Set your color palette to a white foreground and whatever color you want your jewel as the background color. I'm making a red one here.
3. Using your Preset Shapes Tool set to hexagon, or any other shape (line width 7, antialias checked), place the hexagon on your canvas.
4. Using the rectangle selection antialias OFF, surround the hexagon and click in the center to select it.
5. Go to SELECTIONS/ MODIFY/ CONTRACT and set to 7 (the same number as your foreground was set to).
6. Go to Krusty's FX vol.III/ Radial Texturizer. Settings shown below.

7. Go to Eye Candy 4000/ HSB noise/ setting - necrotic tissue/ pattern - smooth lumps. Settings shown below.

8.Go to Eye Candy 4000 Glass. My settings shown below, but adjust it till you like the shape.

9. Deselect and select just the white area using the magic wand, tolerance 38-feather 0.
10. Go to Blade Pro and select a shiny gold (or silver if you prefer) and apply.

You now have a simple, pretty jewel to save as a tube. If you want it shinier use, PSP lights or Greg's Pool Shadow.

Email me if you have any problems.
