Title

This tutorial was created in PSP 7, but can be adapted for PSP 6.

1. Open a 400x400 transparent canvas.
2. Flood fill with a dark color and then add a layer. The is just so you can see what you're doing. Name this layer "Background".
3. Change your background color to white and using the rounded rectangle, (antialias on, vector off), draw a rectangular shape on your canvas. Name this layer "Paper".

4. Go to View-Change Grid and Guide Properties. In the left side of the window change the size to about 23 both horizontally and vertically. This actually depends on the paper size so do what looks right to you. I also made my grid a light gray. Click ok, then go to View again and click on Grid to apply it. You will turn this off when you are done with the lines.

5. Make the background null and then choose a foreground color for your lines. I made mine light blue like on notebook paper.
6. Select the shape by surrounding it with a rectangle selection, (antialias off), and then click in the center.
7. Using the the Draw Tool, single line, (antialias on, vector off), draw your lines across the paper using the grid for a guide. Hold down the shift key while drawing to create a nice straight line. Skip a couple lines at the top so it has a white space like real notebook paper. It will be hard to see the lines you've drawn, but they are there. If you want, go to View and click on grid to turn it off so you can see them. After you check turn it back on and finish the lines.
8. When you are done with the horizontal lines, change the foreground color to pink (or whatever you like) and make the line for the left margin. This side will have about the same amount of space you left for the top.
9. Now we are going to make the holes. I found this easier with the grid turned off, but you can use it if you like. Add a layer. Turn the foreground color to null and choose a bright background color. Make a perfect small circle by using the preset shape circle and holding down the shift key. Move this first circle where you want the middle hole. Now copy and paste the circle on a new layer twice and move them where you want them.

10. Now turn off the background and paper layers by clicking on the glasses in the layer palette. Make sure one of the other layers is selected and go to Layers, merge visible. Go to the layer palette and turn the other two layers back on by clicking the glasses again.
11. Select the "holes" by surrounding with a rectangle, (antialias off), and clicking on a circle. On the layer palette click on the paper layer, then hit delete. Now click on floating selection and hit delete. You should now see the holes in your paper.

12. Delete the background layer and then go to Layers and merge visible. Now copy and paste as a new image and export as a tube.

That's it...now you've got a small size sheet of notebook paper all ready for doodling or sending off a note to your best buddy... don't get caught! :)
