*NOTE: PSP6 users - Use the draw tool set to stroked and filled. Use a color for the outline that is different from the fill so it can be easily selected. After you make a loop, select the outline using the magic wand and fill with white if it's not already. Go to Blade Pro and fill with a sparkly pattern. Add another layer and continue in this manner.:) *NOTE: PSP7 users - To use a Blade Pro preset use a 100x100 transparent canvas flood filled with white. Go to Blade Pro and apply the preset. Once it is applied and open on your desktop set your foreground pattern to the preset.
My Presets |
Open a 400x400 transparent canvas.
1. To create the effect of wire-edged ribbons and bows, choose a shiny pattern for the outline and another simpler pattern or solid for the fill. I'm using a 100x100 canvas with my gold glitter Blade Pro preset for this tutorial.(Click on the link above if you'd like to use mine) You'll be using the draw tool with the settings shown. |

2. Wired ribbon is unique in that it can be twisted and shaped. To create a bow that looks like this, take your draw tool and make a loopy circle, but when you get back toward the start of the circle leave a gap.
Then go back over your original line overlapping here and there and then connect to the starting point.

3. Now add another loop, the tails and the center. If you want you can add another layer and make more loops. Sharpen once to give them more sparkle. |
4. Save it in PSP format and / or tube it for future use.
Try using prints for fills, and other shiny colors, both smooth and textured for the wired outline. |
