This tutorial uses PSP 7 only and was created with both simple and more advanced users in mind. If you are familiar and comfortable with vectors read the information at the end of the tutorial for advanced users. Have fun!

1. Open a 300x300 transparent canvas.
2. Choose a gradient set to "sunburst", and set it as your background color. Foreground none.
3. Using "flower" from your preset shapes, antialias checked, vector unchecked, and place a nice large flower on your canvas.
4. Using the selection tool set to "circle", antialias checked, make a small circle in the center of your flower. You want to remove just enough so each petal is separate. Use the mover tool to move the flower if you need to. Hit delete to remove the center.

5. Now use your selection tool set to "point to point", antialias checked. Click in the center of the flower, then up into a petal, then back to the center and double click. Hit delete. Do this for each petal.

5. Now merge visible layers if you need to and save as a tube.
6. You can make several different flowers in different colors or you can colorize or use manual color correction in the photo enhancement tools.

Ideas:
Make a leaf to go with your flower. You can make it solid or use the selection tool to cut out the veins.

Advanced Users:
If you want to you can also create your flower with vector selected and make a fancier petaled flower and add a stamen. Use the freehand selection tool to make rounder shaped cuts in the petal. For the stamen use the draw tool set to freehand and draw a curved line. Use the spray can to make the pollen at the end. The title shows a few of each.:)

I hope you had fun with this simple tutorial! Aloha! :)
