Our kits come with the barrel and ramrod channels are completely inlet. The locks and triggers are inlet about 90%, leaving some of the final fitting to the builder. Barrels have the breech plugs installed and the dovetails are cut for the sights (except for the octagon to round barrels). The barrel will be predrilled for stake type tenon (octagon to round being the exception). The builder must install the tenons, inlet tenons into the stock, and drill the pin holes. The breech plug tang will be inlet and the touchhole liner/ drum will be drilled and tapped. Drilled for the center lock bolt. If you choose to use a forward bolt, you will need to install it.
The butt area of the stock is completely shaped. The forearm is rounded on the bottom to a basic shape, but left a little heavy on top. The builder can then use his/her discretion on shaping this area. The buttplate, trigger guard, sideplate, toeplate, nosecap, and thimbles must be installed. The finishing of the wood and metal is left to the builder's choice.
The Tennessee and Southern are offered as Poor Boy kits. This means that they do not have a sideplate, nosecap, entry thimble, or toeplate included. These can be added for the cost of the part. All of the other kit styles have these parts include. You can also add other options such as wood upgrades.
