The Spoke Factory, pictured to the right, was owned by John Henderson Lewis. It was a major source of employment for the men of Elliott County, Kentucky. The factory, located in what would become Rowan County, produced club-turned hickory spokes for cart and buggy wheels. Eventually, John and Lucy took their families across the river to farm in Saltair, Ohio.

The Lewis Reunion is held the last Sunday of each June. During these trips, my cousins Gary Hall and John Hurdle have adventured with me through Elliott County in search of ancestors and their final resting places. Please enjoy these photos of our journies.  Reunion & Adventure Photos
