| Numerous other designs have been and are being discovered. Sterling continued to use the distinctive Wright-designed shapes for some time. Not all will be marked "By Russel Wright," but collectors will still seek it out. Note that Wright himself did not design all the figured patterns, or, perhaps almost none of them, but that Sterling used the Wright shape for custom work. Please note that we use the term "Ivy", where Ms. Kerr uses "Palm." With all respect, we see absolutely no reason to call a plant that looks exactly like ivy a "Palm." There ARE some custom Sterling wares with airbrushed palm patterns, so we hope to avoid confusion. Ann Kerr asserts in The Collector's Encyclopedia of Russel Wright that Wright collectors might be mostly interested in patterns that Wright himself designed, but we have not found that to be particularly important to most Sterling collectors. We are interested in finding more Ivy Green pieces, as well as the "Leaf," Boomerang and Robin Hood designs. Please see e-mail address on Home Page with your discovery! |
