Installing the VMAP4/VMAP-D in a Bosch Motronic 0 261 200 465/466
![endif]>
VMAP4 installation is identical to VMAP-D.
Due to the sensitive nature of the Motronics unit it is recommended that only professionals that use anti-static procedures install the VMAP-D into your ECU. Avoid putting pressure on any components except the PCB, the sensor and the power connector! Either use all 5 snap-in PCB offsets or use the optional two PCB offsets with the screws, washers and nuts and 3 snap-in PCB offsets.
1) Remove the Bosch Sensor.
2) Insert and solder the supplied connector (note orientation). (Production connectors have 3 pins only.)
3) (Skip this step if you want to use only the snap in offsets.) Screw the the two provided nylon screws into the nylon nuts (use the washers) in two holes on the ECU.
4) Connect the cable and align it similar to the image below.
5) Snap in the 3 PCB offsets into the VMAP-D. Notice one is cut off and is for support only below the sensor. Use 5 PCB snap offsets if you are using the snap in method.
6) Connect the connector (Note the orientation of connector into the VMAP-D board [slits facing upward]). Check to make sure the black wire is in the correct position!
7) Snap in the VMAP-D into the ECU and screw in the nylon screws with washers (If used).
8) Hook up the MAP hose.
