Enfield, Connecticut — Sept. 15, 2009 — Ursus Technologies, LLC today announced
the release of a software product for the RFID industry scheduled for the first
quarter of 2010. The new product called “iNPulse” will integrate RFID data from
different manufactures Active RFID readers into a seamless environment to monitor
and track the position of tagged assets. The software also interfaces with additional
hardware such as Input Boards and Relay Boards to monitor and manipulate devices
manually through the provided user interfaces or automatically through defined business
rules that key off of events associated with RFID tag movements.
The software is based on Microsoft Server technology utilizing Microsoft Smart
Client technologyto provide a rich interactive user
experience with monitoring assets that move throughout the enterprise. A command
center module provides graphical views of floor plans and the tagged RFID objects
present. As tagged objects move within each floor, user defined business rules execute
against system events and invoke actions such as notifying the console operator,
closing and opening doors and sending emails to name a few. Console operators can
interact with the graphical floor plans to open and close door and switch views
to different floors as needed. The command center integrates a number of manufactures
video cameras to provide real-time video. The console operator can click on camera
icons in the graphical floor plans to easily switch between cameras. The command
center is also VOIP (voice over internet protocol) enabled to allow integration
of microphones, intercoms and voice enabled cameras that support SIP.
Other features of the system include a management console to configure the entire
enterprise for multiple building and facilities that contain the logical zones to
monitor, physical RFID readers, cameras, intercoms, users, security and business
rules to act upon RFID tag movements. A graphical interface programs is included
to import your floor plans and edit them to place cameras, intercoms, doors and
logical zones within a floor. Reports can also be run and customized within the
command center to provide detailed views of all RFID activity.
