From "The Genealogy of the Cleveland and Cleaveland Families", by Edmund and Horace Cleveland, Vol. I., Pg. 216, "Anna Cone of M., b. 1755, d. Plainville, Hartford co., Conn., May 20, 1849 (bur. Westchester), "
Joan Keough states DOD as "17 March 1820."
Per Whitmore's genealogy, page 413:
"It is family tradition that Dr. Robert Usher, third son of Hezekiah, was
born at sea, on a coaster between Cape Cod and the Connecticut river, presumably
when the family was en route from Charlestown to East Haddam. The date of birth
was 31 January 1742. In 1761, when 9 years of age, he went to live and study
with the Hon. Jonathan Huntington of Windham, Connecticut. Mr. Huntington
was a council member, judge, and a successful practitioner of physic. At
age 19, Robert began the practice of medicine, living in Westchester from that
time, and had a large circuit; Westchester, Colchester, New London, County
Millington, and Chatham, Connecticut."
I (Howard C. Usher, Jr.) have in my files a copy of Roberts appointment as an "Ensign of the third company of - - - - - - - - - in the 25th. Regiment in - - - - - - ." Dated 17 October 1786.
