"Ashford 27th. June 183__

My Ever Dear Mother, Brothers and Sisters,
    When I last wrote you I expected to have been with you before this. I went to Hartford with a son________ expectation of seeing home in company with Sister Cone, but for some wise reasons that I cannot comprehend I was disappointed.  I waited more than a week, and then went to Plymouth hoping to see her there. Elvira is visiting there, in Hartford, and I took _____ with me in the stage when I went in, of course she went with me wherever I went.  I invited Elvira to go with me in order to drive for me.  I am not ____ enough to drive yet.  I should have come home instead of going to P. , but when I thought of the long road by the river and E. not at all used to driving, I did not dare risk it, and I had a hope of seeing Abbe and make arrangements about meeting at home induced me to go that way, and I was glad that providence ________ I found Robert in a most pitiable state of health very feeble indeed.  I was very much shocked indeed to find him so low.  I stopped and took dinner with him and made him promise not to go into school again he left that afternoon.  I immediately made known his situation to Cleveland ______he to Mr. _______ who immediately offered his horse and carriage. C... came with me to Farmington to take him home with him to______ we found him better or more comfortable than I was_______ we ______ when I left him he was expecting to go to F.. in company with C. _________ that is the _____ that I have heard of them.  Hope they are with you before this.  I wrote them in Plymouth to come immediately after him if they ever expected to get him away from Farmington ____ that is the last I ____ heard from any of them.  I have written _______ this afternoon requesting her to let me know immediately all about it. All well at Cleveland's had a good visit, if it had not been melancholy on Robert's _____. they have a fine boy there I really love the _____ fellow. So let me know how you all are at home.  I shall not know until after haying as our _____ have commenced. my health is much better than it was a year since but not ______ at lifting _____ or _______.  I would like to write more have much to say, but I know well the consequences if I do , shall get little or no rest to ______ my hands _____ that I can hardly guide my pen my best love to all of you especially my dear Mother how is poor Harriet now?

My Ever Dear Mother,
    After so long a silence I am ________ once more to speak to my friends, (if I have any in this world." to just say to them that I am yet a living ____ spared monument of Gods Mercy.  And for what purpose I know now, but shall hereafter am sure that I am living to my purpose here, neither am ______ for an other, in my view of myself, - my health the winter past has been better, but since this spring opened I am a miserable being as to health _____ I can say that I do not enjoy any at times, ______ tolerable comfortable, have been wishing my husband would let me come home and spend the time of his absence with you, but he won't see it to be consistent for me at this time he is ______ says I may when he gets home, but that is not probable at all to me, when you will see me cannot say.  But keep the -------until they are called for, when that will be I ___can not, wish you
