Support maintenance and improvement of state's current funding
for common education
and oppose any reduction in revenue sources and/or diversion of funds.
In addition, assure that any efforts to negatively impact our ad
valorem base are clearly opposed. Tax Increment Funding districts
process must require the approval of the impacted school districts, when
ad valorem dollars are involved.
Support an initiative to change the “super majority” on bond referendum votes from sixty percent to a
simple majority.
USSA supports adding additional instructional days, as long as any change includes the full funding of
the costs of increasing the school year
Support the removal of the Oklahoma Lottery dollars from within the formula, to outside of the
formula. The dollars would be distributed on a per pupil basis, to all school districts.
Lottery dollars in the
formula must be replaced in the formula.
USSA
will support a comprehensive review of the Virtual high School
Program, including oversight, financing and rigor of the program.
USSA supports schools receiving a significant increase in operational
dollars to
cover ongoing increases in costs to schools.
