Melina grew up in
the warm and sunny Mediterranean on Earth, enjoying the mesh of
modern technology and ancient history. Deeply proud of her
heritage, she nevertheless had a desire to travel the stars and
explore. Initially, Melina desired to join as a Science
Officer specializing in Archeology... however, given her
aptitude test scores as well as the need for combatants during
the Dominion War, Starfleet felt she would be better suited as a
Security Officer. Disappointed, Melina joined
nevertheless, figuring it would be better to see the universe as
a Security Officer than to never see it at all.

| Melina is rather quiet
and introspective, though she does listen carefully to everything
that people have to say. She is constantly evaluating people
and takes careful note of their position on issues. She
rarely smiles, except when reading about history or observing
ancient artifacts. While not pleased with the career chosen
for her, she nevertheless makes her best attempt to do the job the
best way she can.
