Golf Classic News

Despite the weatherman’s forecast of stormy weather, the players gathered at Eagle Crest Golf Course in Alma on Thursday, September 6 for the Van Buren Lions Club’s annual Charity Golf Classic.  The players were there to help the Lions Club raise funds for their many charities, most notably their sight programs for local children and adults in need.  They were rewarded with overcast but non-stormy skies and a fine day of golf.

Winning the 3-player scramble format tournament at 15 under par was the team of Trey Gage, Trace Andres and Steve Roland from Arvest Bank (not shown is Steve Roland).

Taking second place at 13 under, after winning a scorecard playoff, was the team of Joe Dunn, Levi Dunn and Marlin Dunn (not shown is Marlin Dunn)..

Taking third place, also at 13 under, was the team of Ryan Nye, Bo Hunter and Rick Coatney from Edward Jones, Alma (not shown is Bo Hunter and Rick Coatney).

Unfortunately no one won the Ford truck with a hole-in-one on hole 8 sponsored by Randall Ford.
