How to Get Started
To register an LOH Unit and get started locally, contact a local VA hospital or Clinic’s Veterans Volunteer Coordinator and secure the necessary information required to initiate participation. The Coordinator will need to know:
Volunteers are responsible take the necessary steps to receive credit for the hours worked. The Veterans Volunteer Coordinator will help with this. When 30 or more LOH units are participating in the V.A.V.S. program, our efforts will be registered with the VA Director of Volunteer Services in Washington, D.C. and a voting representation on the National Advisory Board for Volunteers will be possible.
Our
primary goal should be to do all we can to improve the care received by our less
