Attacks on 12th Security Police Squadron
The following information is from Lt.
Col. Roger P. Fox's book, "Air Base Defense in Vietnam."
Sniper attacks, booby traps and VC probes to find out where the base defenses
were located are not included in this list.
We know there were many other attacks
then those listed. The list is so incomplete we hesitate even publishing it,
but maybe we can build a more complete list from this. These are considered the
"official" attacks
It appears the "official" written records were not very well kept
during the 1965-68 time frame,
much like other military records we are finding, such as records of dogs and
handler.
From our research it appears that the
12th SPS was transferred from Cam Ranh to Phu Cat in June 1970. So,
"Official" attacks at Cam
Ranh after June 1970 took place after the 12th departed for Phu Cat.
"Official" attacks at Phu
Cat prior to June 1970 took place prior to the arrival of the 12th SPS.
