Dear Friends and Family,

I wanted to update you on how the Vehicle Fund is doing. I believe we are doing quite well! So far, we have received $1924.41! Thank you all so much for your generosity.

I have good news for everyone. Vocational Rehabilitation has authorized the modifications to the vehicle. They have authorized $100,000 for the modifications. This means that I need to purchase the vehicle this week. My brother Louis (Butch) will be assisting me to negotiate the lowest possible price. Of course, I plan to give them the opportunity to give me the vehicle for free, but I'm not holding my breath. ; ) Perhaps they will offer me a generous discount.

I need to deliver proof of purchase by Friday for the authorization to become valid. This is a very busy, stressful and exciting time for me. I have been assured that I will be on the road within two months.

On a more troubling note, some of you have mailed checks to the P.O. Box and they were returned. I sincerely apologize! I've spoken to the post office and they have assured me that the problem has been corrected. If your letter has been returned, please contact me immediately so that I can give you an alternate address.

Again, thank you for your generosity! You will enable me to put down a decent down payment on the vehicle. Please keep this web site circulating so that others have the opportunity to support the fund as well.
