Dungeons and Dragons
When the In Nomine game that we were playing fell apart we started to play another one. This time it's Dungeons and Dragons. I don't know if that name makes any sense because we aren't in a dungeon and we haven't seen any dragons. Maybe it's a good thing that we haven't. We're playing in a land named Ravenloft that is kind of gothic. There are rumors of vampires and werewolves and necromancy and things like that. Dungeons and Dragons is like the original swords and sorcery role playing game, or so they tell me. So it's like being in the middle ages except with magic thrown in. So far it's been fun.I'm playing Lynn. At first I was going to make her a lot like Kiri since I enjoyed playing her so much in the In Nomine game. But then Lynn started to assert herself. I really like her. After I wrote her introduction I knew that I was going to enjoy playing her. She is like a tragic heroine. She is struggling to make peace with the demons inside of her and she fails more often than she succeeds. Your heart will go out to her I'm sure. The other players are Martin and Jody who play Weamar and Marinae respectively. Chris runs the game and plays all the other characters. Stuff happened and they let me run the game for the third book "Liquid Shadow". I was so nervous when I started because I knew that I had big shoes to fill. So I worked hard on the plot and the supporting cast, and I read lots about the Ravenloft world so that the plot made sense, and I came up with a neat storyline that has a lot of messages for today in it. It's a great read. We added another member for a short time. Her name is Kathryn and she played Tshaya for the first fourteen chapters. That's when she dropped out. So I took over Tshaya for her. Chris decided to play Eliza, David, and Damon, so he had a lot to do. Martin played Weamar, Jody played Marinae, and I played everyone else except for the stuff in the "Raven" chapter that Jody wrote himself. We had a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to book four!
And yes, this is an "adult" kind of adventure. There is a lot of sex and violence in it. So if you're not 18 then you shouldn't tell your parents you're reading it. They probably aren't mature enough to deal with it.
