I am a big fan of O scale kits offered by Sonora Scale Models.  This was their first kit, the Arroyo Verde Water Tank.  See their site for details.

Going with the tank is a pump house that can be finished to look like stone or adobe.

The detail in the resin castings is impressive.  This was a joy to build, very simple but with lots of character.

Another Sonora Scale Models offering is this unique mercury still, used in gold mining camps worldwide to separate mercury from gold.

It features great detail, including a furnace door and mercury retort with staybolts and a firebox borrowed from a Porter locomotive!

This tank and base make a great detail for a locomotive service facility.  The tank also looks great riding on a flat car.
