Yamaha "IT"

By the early 1970's, Yamaha was manufacturing three distinct off road motorcycles. Unfortunately, nothing existed for the serious Enduro enthusiast.  Seeing an "untapped" market, Yamaha began development of what they considered to be a "serious" Enduro motorcycle.  That first bike was the 1976 IT400.  In fact, that first bike was so good, three riders received gold medals in the Austrian ISDT.

In 1977, the line grew to include a 175 and a 250. In later years, the IT series grew to include a 125, 200, 425, and a 465.

Considerable development money was spent by Yamaha to develop the IT line. They proved themselves to be competent, competitive motorcycles.Unfortunately, not enough were sold to justify continued production, and the last IT being the 1985 IT200.

VDT has many new and used parts, original sales literature and service manuals for your IT motorcycle. Please e-mail or call with your requests.
