| For just over thirteen years
Nichole was virtually my constant companion, to the end the undisputed
Alpha of the household, her authority never challenged..... she was always
the first to enter a doorway, the rest of the yorkies always acknowledged
and accepted her station. Herself a wonderfully healthy girl,
she only had lost 3 of her front bottom teeth in her final year and I cannot
recall her ever being ill. Nichole did pass her good health
on to her puppies and was a loving devoted mother to several litters.
At the time of her demise, she was a great great grandmother. Although
she had, of course, slowed down in her later years, she was even then not
adverse to rolling around tossing toys, playing tug of war and competing
for attention with the youngsters.
Nichole endeared herself to
everyone. It always amazed me how anyone I would talk with
would always ask, "And how is Nichole?" And mind you, I have had
more than a couple of yorkies for some years, and visitors and friends
always would play and interact with all ....... but it was always Nichole
who maintained the spotlight. Such a loving outgoing caring disposition
but a certain something too that made a lingering imprint on the heart..
Again, yesterday, I was reminded
of the impact she made on those who knew her. A lovely couple who
have a great-great-grandson of hers called to tell me that they had decided
to name their little boy Vista's Nicholas and call him Nicky in tribute
to Nichole.
Nichole does lives on in her
children, grandchildren, great grand and great great grandchildren.
There are many that walk upright as she did, do the patty cake as she did
and have the self assured and loving disposition, beautiful coat, and other
qualities from her.
But I will always miss
my sweet dear Nichole. Rest in peace my darling baby.
