This picture is me in my new "forever" home.  My name is Scooter and I would like to tell you my story....  You see, I didn't always look this handsome or feel as good as I do now.  I am about 7 years old and until not long ago lived at a puppymill in Arizona.  My job was to father lots of puppies for my owner even though my background is unknown and I don't even know my mom or dad's names but my owner didn't care about that.  I lived outside and it sure would get hot in the summer and those darn fleas were always all over me.  I don't remember exactly what happened but from the time I was a young kid my mouth and my back leg hurt real bad... I could hardly eat and couldn't even use my leg but I learned to put up with the pain.  It was a rough life for sure.

Well, I finally got lucky.  My owner decided he didn't want me anymore because there was only one puppy from the last litter and that was not good enough for him.  He told a yorkie rescue lady, Helen, that I didn't have a vet or any shots and signed a paper saying yorkie rescue could have me.  My foster mom, Helen, promised me that my life in the puppy mill was over and that she would find me a new home where I would be loved and taken care of.

She gave me a nice bath that got rid of all the fleas and took me to see Dr. Welty.  He said I had a broken jaw which had healed pretty good on its own and a broken hip also from a long time ago that had to be fixed.  No wonder I always hurt so much!!  My teeth were cleaned, my dew claws removed, surgery to fix my hip, neutered, and vaccinations too.  They even put a chip under my skin so I wouldn't ever get lost.  I don't remember ever having been to a vet before but everyone there was so nice to me.

Here are a couple of pictures of me at my foster Mom's home where I quickly began to feel much better after my surgery.

See the stitches on my hip?  I wasn't
feeling my best in this picture.
.I was feeling a lot better here.

One day this nice lady Barbara came to visit and she hugged and kissed me and told me that she had been chosen to be my new Mom and wanted me to come live with her.  Oh yes!!  I was soooo HAPPY!!  And here we are on the day I got to go to my new home........

Me and My Mom

HAPPY DAYS!!  I love my Mom Barbara so MUCH!! And boy oh boy, she sure loves me too!!  I have a wonderful home, lots of hugs and kisses, I get to snuggle up to sleep with Mom and my new sister Nikki, who is a maltese, on Mom's bed .... soooo comfy .... lots of toys to play with ....  Nikki and I love to run and play together.  There is always fresh water and my tummy is always happy too - I've gained some weight and feel really good all over.  And I don't hurt anymore.  Everyone who visits make me feel so very special.  I sure do love my new life.
Thank you for listening to my story.

Love,   Scooter
