PhilosophyYour child deserves the most positive educational climate possible for his/her learning. Together we will make a difference in this process. To encourage students to follow our class rules, I will support appropriate behavior with praise, small rewards, stickers on a chart, and coupons for special reinforcements. At the end of the behavior chart (25 days), your child will be invited to eat lunch in my room and have an extra recess if he/she has earned 23 green days. |
Procedure Your child will be able to monitor behavior. If a student chooses to break a rule, the following steps will be taken: 1st offense-verbal reminder-yellow day 2nd offense-warning recorded on behavior chart-red day 3rd offense-teacher conference and Time to Ponder sheet completed 4th offense-phone call or note home At the end of each day, I will record the level on a behavior chart. If red days become a pattern, we will need a conference to set up a plan to help your child establish appropriate classroom behavior. On Tuesday you will get a weekly behavior report. If your child ends the day with no reminders, he/she will earn two points. If a warning is recorded, your child earns one point. A red day receives no points. At the end of the week, I total the points and use the following scale to report weekly behavior: 10=O 9=S+ 8=S 7=S- 6=N below 5=U |
