Shuttle Bus A free shuttle runs from Bill's to Gold Coast then to Orleans. Also a Bill's to Gold Coast Bus runs. These run every 15-20 minutes. You may be required to show a Coast room card before boarding, but that hasn't happened recently. Bill's to Suncoast: Suncoast: 10am, 12noon, 245pm, 645pm, 8pm, 1045pm, 12midnight Bill's: 11am, 1pm, 315pm, 715pm, 9pm, 1115pm, 1am. Bill's has (12) 25c/50c/$1 9/5 JOB and 7/5 BP along the wall that faces the garage elevators and a couple more to the right of them. Bill's has 8/5 JOB, but the best game I saw was 25c 7/5 BP, 25c 9/6/5 DB and 50s 9/6/5 DB PROG. Lisa Vios is no longer there. It is not even worth it to walk into Bill's unless you are anxious to play 7/5 jacks. It has been reported that all of the NSUD at Bill's is gone. Also the South Point shuttle now runs from Mandalay Bay, not Bill's. The Orleans, Gold Coast and Suncoast shuttles may be gone soon too. Michael's restaurant has moved to South Point, though it's not open yet. Bill's Steakhouse is scheduled to open in the space sometime this spring. Many of the 25c NSUD at the BC have been downgraded. I counted only 36 single-play and the 12 3/5 Play that remain. Every bartop I checked had been DOWNGRADED. Most of the MG/MD machines near the front of the casino have had the NSUD downgraded in all denominations. All $5 and up NSUD at Barbary/Gold Coast have been shorted to 15/9. This includes the (2) $2 3/5 play machines at Barbary. BC now has 3 banks of 25c (3/5 Play) NSUD, two $1/$2 (3/5 Play) NSUD, $5 (3 Play) NSUD and two $5 single line NSUD. Barbary Coast - for bartop players, all the machines at the bars have NSUD, but the machines are old and the keys are sticky. At least they are TITO. The new Game Kings around the casino all have it too and they work very nicely. 25/50/$1 NSUD, Bartops, Barbary Coast. I can only confirm this in the 2 machines I was by. Didn't find any other full pay at the bar. NSUD are back. I counted 64 machines. All of the 9/6 JoB and NSUD have indeed been downgraded except for a few $1 NSUD. Best 25c/50c games are now 98% 7/5 BP, 97.9% 9/5 DDB, 97.6% DW, 97.3% 8/5 JoB, 97% KBJW, 97.8% 9/6 DB and 97.4% 8/5 BP Deluxe. All of the NSUD and 9/6 JoB are reportedly MIA. Nothing good left to play. "Beginning January 15 your current Club Card and Club Orleans card will be invalid. Use your new Club Coast Card, where your points are good at either the Gold Coast or The Orleans. This is just the beginning of our new and exciting Players club, Club Coast, that will soon include the Suncoast and the Barbary Coast." The (5) 25c FPDW uprights on south side near $1 DW progressive were downgraded to ugly ducks, the (10) 25c FPDW uprights near bandstand to NSUD, and the (4) 25c 10/7 DB uprights near bandstand to 9/7. I find it the most charming hotel and casino I've had the pleasure to stay in. Both the casino and rooms are basic, but you couldn't ask for a more inviting atmosphere on the Strip ... particularly if you're a low roller. The hotel has about 200 rooms located on six floors or so. The forward rooms on the Flamingo Ave. side offer a modestly decent view of the Bellagio fountains. The Victorian decor rooms are homey and comfortable ... some describe them as romantic. Old VP machines with uncomfortable chairs. Good center strip location with easy access parking garage. No buffet. Small coffee shop with decent food. Slow service on hopper fills. Large, comfortable, inexpensive hotel rooms. Discretionary comps require persistence. Good mailings to non-locals. Michael's, their top restaurant, is one of the very best in Vegas or anywhere else. Expensive, very, but classy and simply fabulous food. Bring a good appetite as their included hors d'oeuvres are really nice. Three free tournaments per year for 200 invitees (from their top 1500 players as measured in total points - first come first served). Includes 3 free nights, a welcome cocktail party, and a very nice awards dinner at Drai's downstairs. Its been reported that discretionary comps have been drastically reduced or eliminated at Coast Casinos. Apparently this is primarily directed at $2 advantage players, but maybe at everyone. Comps and offers at Barbary are more related to lifetime point accumulation than trip-average, so short session play does not hurt your standing. |
