(4) $5/$10 MG/MD NSUD uprights against wall between high-limit area and Keno. (2) $5/$10 MG/MD 8/5/35 JoB uprights in high-limit area. Today I found four of the new 25c machines mentioned here a few days ago. There are two 25c 10/7 Double Bonus and two 25c FPDW against the wall near the west snack bar, the one that's between the Sportsbook and the poker room. I stopped by Binion's today to cash a bounce back cash voucher. EVERYTHING worth playing appears to be gone. The remaining eight 25c Triple Plays with 10/7 DB and 9/6 JB---> now 9/6 DB and 9/5 JB. The new bartops at both bars with 2-pair JW and augmented Bonus Poker (8/5/35 JoB) ---> now Joker Wild are an Atlantic City 500 coin royal version at 25c/50c and a poor return Kings or Better $1 version, the Bonus Poker are a standard 7/5 version, for those in the know the good Blackjack paytable on these machines that attracted pros and killed the bonus cash promotion have been shorted to even money Blackjacks now too. Binions cash back: For June on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 2,500 pts = $10.00; 10,000 pts = $25.00; 25,000 pts = $100.00. Effective April 26th cash back was eliminated and points are redeemable only for comps. The $1 triple play machines on the east side of the casino (just around the corner from the cashier) has been downgraded from 9/6 Jacks to 6/5 and the NSUD to something far worse. I didn't bother to write down the pay table...but it was really bad! At least the $.25 Triple plays with 10/7 DB are still intact! The 50c single line 9/6 JoB are MIA. The DataBase has been updated for other minor changes. Casino host Judy Whitson is MIA. New casino host is Elmer Lakindanum Parking at the Horseshoe is no longer self validation . One must get a pit boss or eatery cashier to validate you . Validation is good for 4 hours only . Additional 4 hour blocks can be seperately attained by restamping by pit personel. Earned Food comp equivalancy information seems to have taken on the texture of dont ask wont tell club. When I asked I was told "you have food comps avalible". Binion's Horseshoe Casino was very busy this afternoon with more than half of the machines being played. Few seats were available at table games. I didn't see any new machines. Some of the old ones have been removed. There are no longer any machines upstairs. The old slot cards still work. I have $12 in cash available from the old system. It shows as 12,000 points on the card reader. Slot club representative said that comps accrued under the old system are lost but old cashback balance is available. She said the new system will accrue cash and comps "just like before". While there, I played a few hands to see how much coin-in equals a point. It took 50c coin-in to get one point. Since 1000 points equals $1 in Cashback, that makes the cashback rate .2%. I played 25c NSUD on a multi-denominational - location and game details are unknown. I asked about the weekly video poker and slot tournaments and double points at the Horseshoe slot club. I was told that they have none of these right now but they are hoping to bring back these or similar promotions soon. As DDS already reported, some of the 25c triple plays with 10/7 double bonus are still there in their old location between the slot club and the west cashier. I counted ten uprights, no slant-tops. Eight are in a bank by themselves and two more are in a nearby bank. Here's the inventory of everything I found: 10/7 DB (100.1%)---- (10) 25c (3 Play) MG uprights between slot club and west cashier NSUD (99.7%)---- several 25c uprights scattered throughout the casino (8) 25c/50c/$1 MG uprights near west cashier (8) 25c/50c/$1 MG uprights near Big Wheel (5) $1 (3 Play) MG uprights near east cashier 9/6 JoB (99.5%)---- (3) 25c MG uprights near east cashier (10) 25c (3 Play) MG uprights between slot club and west cashier (4) 25c/50c/$1 MG uprights near Big Wheel (5) $1 (3 Play) MG uprights near east cashier Federal marshals close Binion's on 9 JAN to seize cash to satisfy debts owed by the casino. On 11 JAN Harrah's agrees to buy the Horseshoe and hopes to have the casino back in business soon. Once established, $4000 coin-in per day will get Sun. - Thurs. room comp. 2X points on Tuesdays until further notice. Casino has gone downhill in recent years since Jack Binion was replaced as CEO by his sister. Steakhouse at top of Binion's has good steaks and good view. Rooms in west tower are OK. East tower rooms are very old. Casino is very smoky and dark. |
