Emerald Island has 1, 2, 5, 10, 25 cent 8/5 Bonus and 9/7 Double Bonus. Their recent TV ads are bragging that all cash-outs at their casino would be hand-pays. No coins, no tickets. Every single cash-out would be a hand-pay. This ad didn't make me want to rush over and play there. BTW. I also checked out the new Emerald Island. It had a funky odor. You'd think they could have sprayed a few hundred cans of Lysol or something. The VP was even skankier than the aroma. All in all, it seems like the new ownership is not very bright. They certainly are not doing anything to make the new casino appeal to the public. I simply see nothing of interest to anyone. Oh yeah, I forgot. It does have an enclosed non-smoking area. The machine selection seemed to be about like that in the rest of the casino. I guess that counts as an effort. The place was packed, but I think this was just because the joint had only been open a day or so when I stopped by. I almost did not find it. I was looking for this green icon they supposedly had. I did see an odd structure that might hold this emerald someday, but for now, it is not operational. It is very near the Rainbow and El Dorado, It is sort of behind them to the west, I think. Has 370 gaming machines, and all offer one-cent and two-cent games, as well as nickel and higher denominations. No table games or Sportsbook Has separate non-smoking area, which is completely isolated from the smoking floor. Has a sandwich deli shop and a coffee shop |
