Tier Levels and Benefits The 8 uprights in the carousel in the HOB are back with FP JOB and BP. (27) 25c/50c/$1/$2 9/6 JoB, 8/5 BP, 9/7 DB, 9/6 DDB & 10/8/6 JWD slant-tops in the House of Blues. (4) $5/$10/$25 9/6 JoB, 8/5 BP, 9/7 DB, 9/6 DDB & 10/8/6 JWD uprights in the House of Blues casino. (2) 25c/50c/$1/$2 9/6 JoB, 8/5 BP, 9/7 DB & 9/6 DDB uprights in a carousel in the House of Blues casino. (7) 25c/50c/$1/$2/$5 9/6 JoB, 8/5 BP, 9/7 DB & 9/6 DDB slant-tops in the smoking section next to 12BAR. (4) 25c/50c/$1/$2/$5 9/6 JoB, 8/5 BP, 9/7 DB & 9/6 DDB slant-tops under the outside rail of the 12 Bar. (6) $1/$2/$5 9/6 JoB, 8/5 BP, 9/7 DB & 9/6 DDB uprights in a carousel in the House of Blues casino. (8) 25c green 9/6 DBDJ Game Makers on the wall facing Total rewards. 25c/50c/$1 9/7 DBAF in the House of Blues casino. The slant tops now have the $2 denomination added. They were previously quarters, halves and dollars. In terms of the games, each machine has only five games available compared to the dozen or so that were previously on the machines. The good news is that most of them are full pay. The inventory is: 9/6 Jacks or Better - 8/5 Bonus Poker - 9/7/5 Double Bonus - 9/6/4 Double Double Bonus - Double Joker Wild with a pay table for one coin of: 1-1-4-6-8-10-25-50-100-500. Unfortunately, I did not check the 5 coin royal pay off so I don't know if the pay table is the one that has a 99.00% return as shown on the vpFree pay table listing. Each of the pay tables listed is available at all four denominations. There is a carousel of eight uprights that have the five games mentioned above - four have denominations of one dollar, two dollars and five dollars only. The other four have five dollar, ten dollar and twenty-five dollar denominations only. The Double Aces and Faces are MIA. (7) 25c/50c/$1/$2/$5 MG/MD 8/5 DJ on the right from the Bourbon Tower elevator entrance. Hotel has two towers – Bourbon and Orleans. Bourbon Tower is closer to the Boardwalk and offers good views of ocean and boardwalk. Rooms have recently been completely remodeled including flat screen TVs and new beds and linens. Orleans Tower is connected to the casino but in the back closer to Pacific Avenue and has two parts – an older and newer part. Newer part (towards Pacific Avenue) has nice rooms that are slightly larger than Bourbon Tower and offer good views of the ocean on the north side. Property has approximately fifty suites which is low based on the total number of rooms thus suites are hard to get especially on weekends and require that you be a high-roller. Seven Stars in itself does not qualify for a suite at Showboat. (Warning: Some of the House of Blues suites do not have windows; so if you want to look at the ocean, avoid these.) French Quarter Buffet consistently ranks as one of the better buffets in Atlantic City. (12) 25c/50c/$1/$5 9/6 JoB in main casino across from the Carousel Room. $1,000,000 coin-in per year earns 7 Star status. Gambling: This place sucks. Nothing playable. I played the $1 96 DDB, I found a few $1 8/5 JOB (amazing most were 6/5) ,25 triple play jokers wild and lost on all of them. Then I played the .25 8/5 JOB MS. After about an hour, I hit a royal on the first line for a $1000. Interesting thing no bells, cash out or anything, it just posts the credits and you keep going. Food: The buffet. It's fairly pricey at $25. Great place if you want to eat like a horse. This place had more stations and food types (Chinese, seafood, carving, Italian, etc.) The food was buffet quality, medium. The amount of food wasted could feed a small country. Multi-Strike with 25c 9/6 DDB are added. 1 Base Reward Credit is earned for every $5 coin-in on reel slot machines ($10 video poker), and Bonus Reward Credits are awarded based on the type of machine played. On average you get 2 Bonus Credits and 1 Base Credit for every $10 of VP coin-in (probably fewer Bonus Credits for positive VP machines). It takes 3,000 (increased APR 2005 to 4000) Base Reward Credits in the year to get Platinum status and 10,000 to get Diamond status. Comps don't expire for 6 months, and are banked indefinitely as long as one point is earned every 6 months. Also, comp points can be used at any Harrah's property. Most Marketing offers aren't deducted from your Reward Credit balance. Hosts can over-ride the new Rewards Program to take care of "good" players. Hosts can't give discretionary comps until all reward credits are used up. Diamond Lounges now require Photo ID to get in and usually you can only take 1 guest. Be sure to have your Diamond/Platinum cards to avoid lines for buffets (find one on the floor if you don't have a card so you can avoid long lines). |
