(1) 25c 9/6 JoB near northwest entrance. Fitzgeralds has installed Aristocrat player's card machines and has a new slot club. These machines count down the coin-in until a point has been reached and keeps a running total. This was nice because $10 in coin-in equaled one-point. From what I can tell, 1 point is worth 1 cent of cash back. I asked at the player's club booth about comps too because I seemed to be earning them at a much higher rate, and I believe the database is correct that you get .2% comps in addition to cashback. However, the "supervisor" of the slot club told me that *she thinks* that for every point you earn, one cent is put into cashback, one cent into comps, and one cent into a "pot" that they use. I have no idea what this means, and wasn't going to get it out of her because she seemed very unsure. They have two levels of player's cards. Supposedly you earn cashback at a higher rate (double) on the Emerald Card, but I didn't notice that happening. I didn't ask about it either. There were very few machines with TITO, and absolutely no video poker with TITO. I overheard a slot floorperson saying that they are hoping to be completely TITO in a year. Not much new here except that they have added a high-limit area upstairs with $1/$5 8/5 BP. Fitzgeralds: The lone nickel 17/10 Loose Deuces machine is back. It's upstairs just to the right of the keno lounge. On this visit I found more 25c Bonus Poker and NSUD than I had seen before. Also noticed that the coffee shop menu contains a couple of pages of low-carb items. The buffet seems slightly improved over the buffet of a few years ago. Fitzgeralds: The lone 17/10 Loose Deuces machine is gone. According to a floorperson it's now "accumulating dust next to the employee's room". Also Fitzgeralds: There is a bank of 25c machines next to the giftshop were you can get a voucher for a free steak dinner special in the coffeeshop for every four of a kind. All but one machine are 8/5 Bonus Poker. Sorry, I don't remember what the last machine was, but I think it was very short pay. The steak is their New York steak except that you don't get a soup or salad. Officially priced at $9.00, it included the coffee I had. (As usual: max coins required, must notify personnel before playing off the four of a kind, must have slots card inserted). More slots and less video poker machines in recent months. |
