JAN 2009

The Edgewater Joker Poker now has the RF set for 4700 coins. This makes the ER = 101.00%.
The full pay machines at Colorado Belle still had Joker Poker with a 4000 RF.

DEC 2008

There are (12) 50c/$1/$2 9/7 TDB slant-tops near the escalator in the middle of the casino.

JUL 2008

Colorado Belle and Edgewater now pay no points (zero, zilch, nada) on their positive expectations VP (FPDW, 10/7DB, JW, etc.) I played for over 5 hours and received 0 points, confirmed with the slot club boothlings they no longer give points on positive VP. Comp dollars still accrue.

*** MIA - JUN 2008 ***

25c 8/5 BP PROG.

*** MIA - FEB 2008 ***

(4) 25c MG slant-tops in the middle of the casino with 100% + games.

*** MIA - JAN 2008 ***

(6) 25c MG 3X2 uprights southwest corner with 100% + games.

NOV 2007

There are no longer separate cash back and free play categories. All money back is based on points (1000 points = $2). The latest slot club flyer says points can be redeemed for free slot play at machines OR for cash back at the slot club booth. On all of the FPVP machines at Edgewater and Belle, it now takes $20 in to earn 15 points .. $1.333 per point. Based on this, the cashback (freeplay) is at 0.15%. Comps still accumulate separately ... comps accumulate about $1.31per 1000 points ... at the above $1.333 per point this means comps are at just under 0.1%.

SEP 2007

There may be an error on EW part. The 12 FPVP slant tops were giving $1 = 1 point, while the 12 FPVP uprights were giving $2 = 1 point. I can confirm that the 12 slant tops are in a very noisy area. The uprights were getting very little play. There were signs above each of the three banks indicating over 100% games with the individual ER for each game.

AUG 2007

As reported there are 24 machines at the Edgewater offereing FPDW, Joker 646 (4000 RF), 10 & 7 Double Bonus plus double double bonus. The 12 slant tops at the top of the escalator have sharp graphics, comfortable seats but are excruciatingly noisy. The 12 uprights (with same games) can be found in the southern part of the casino and for the most part it is a much more pleasant experience for the ears. There are six (3 back to back with 3) in the southwest corner and another six (also 3 back to back) in the south central part of the casino.

AUG 2007

The Edgewater has added 12 new *full pay* video poker machines. All 12 machines have four games - 10/7 Double Bonus, 10/6 Double Double Bonus, full pay deuces and full pay kings or better jokers. All are quarter denomination. They are located near the escalator in the middle of the casino. One drawback - it takes twice the money played to earn a point.

AUG 2007

The Belle and Edgewater have added numerous 8/5 BP, 9/7 DB, and 9/6 DDB to their inventories at various denominations, which isn't great, but better than total devastation. The BP is everywhere, and the DB and DDB are generally on the highest denomination of the MD machines. I did get to glance at one bartop in the River Bar at EW and it had an 8/5 BP Progressive at the $.25 level.

*** MIA - JUL 2007 ***

FPDW (100.7%) - 10/7 DB (100.2%)

10/6 DDB (100.1%) - 15/8 LDW (100.1%)

99.9% OEJ - NSUD(99.7%)

9/6 Bdlx (99.6%) - 9/6 JOB (99.5%)

JUL 2007

Did an inventory check and did not find anything playable! However, I did not check the bartops (they were in use). Best JOB was 9/5 (98.4%). The only machines above 99% were the 12/8 LDW. I would estimate that the total number of videopoker machines were reduced to about one half. They were replaced with slot - location and game details are unknown.

JUN 2007

dgewater and Colorado Belle now use their own "Access Player Card".
Best Video Poker games are "To Be Determined".

JAN 2007

There are 14 slant-top Game Kings, 25c/50c/$1, located between the registration desk and
the main cashier. At least 8 have 15/8 Loose Deuces (available in all three denominations).

*** MIA - NOV 2006 ***

(10) 25c/50c/$1 slant-tops (15/10 LDW, NSUD, 9/6 Bdlx and 9/6 JoB).

*** MIA - AUG 2006 ***

(2) banks of 25c/50c/$1 NSUD uprights.

25c NSUD PROG O'Aces Bar bartops.

25c/50c/$1/$2 NSUD bartops.

MAY 2006

FPDW still intact. Can anyone give me a hard number on comp accrual with play at this place? I know the
database says 0.25% but I'm thinking 400 points = $1 in comp (or thereabouts) which is 0.025%.

DEC 2005

The discretionary comp policy has changed. Last year I got discretionary rooms comped on $3k coin in per night. This year I gave them over $4.3k coin in per night. I got my rooms comped, but I think, it was only because the executive host I was talking to, ran out of time. Upon request she acknowledged, that the comp policy has significantly changed. Sadly she wasn't free to disclose the new policy. Didn't find the 5c FPDW but didn't look too hard.

OCT 2005

I have noticed that my comp balance can be debited for the room even though the room is comped.
Throwing a tissy fit (rant and rave) at a boothling usually gets the debit reversed.

SEP 2005

The 15/8 LDW are MIA. Downgraded to 12/8.

MAR 2005

Just got back from Laughlin and I have a lot of great news on the Edgewater to report, The fun books have much better offers and more of them. The buffet is much improved, and in my opinion was already very good. The full pay machines in the listing are all still there, and most importantly all the VP games at the 2 bars upstairs are all paper now but remain full pay. Marketing director Kevin McGowen tells me that all Mandalay properties in Laughlin have no plans to change the full pay machines. This would include the Belle. He also tells me all machines throughout the casino will be paper soon. The bartops in the sports bar downstairs remain non full pay, but there are plenty upstairs on the main floor and the bartops to go around.

JUN 2004

There never was any FPDW in the bartops. So the red MIA reference is for ghost - location and game details are unknown.

There are only two bars in EW, the O'Aces and the River's Edge. So the refererence for "most" bars could be "both" bars for clarity.

The River's Edge bar has the three triple-play progressives, not O'Aces. This is the short side which only has three stations. The meters are posted on the wall. True, Jacks and NSUD are available with this 1% meter on the royal. (I try to make a donation every trip)

On the nickel MG you have (3) instead of (2) for DB 10/7. There are four nickel MG, but only two have the full pay Deuces and DB. These are the older ones where you select the game with the hold buttons. The other two are touch screen selection with short pay.

The "Bonus Frenzy" high roller section is octogon shaped area mid-casino. One side (northwest) is open for entry. There are two single game Bonus pokers flanked by the two Game Kings with the "239" plays. (for some reason two other GK have sat idle for months in this area)

Promotions- sometimes the only signage is 8 1/2x11" on the slot club desk. This was true for June 4x points promo.

MAR 2004

The Loyalty Cash program is back but only on Tuesdays. Players can eat for $1 on Thursdays. With
both deals, the points must be earned at the Edgewater and must be earned that day.

JAN 2004

I don't know if you have this info yet for your database, and you can post this on VPFree from me as you wish. I received a call this weekend from an employee at Edgewater (where I had played a lot in the 2nd half of the year) - and I had a friend also verify this: They have installed 4 multi-game/multi-denomination uprights in the middle of the floor somewhere that are $1/$2/$5/$10, and they all have both 10/7 DB & 10/6 DDB on all denominations (along with the usual array of other advanced bonus games). I think this is significant - esp. for a player like me. The one little difference is that they reduced the payout to 239 from 250 for quad 5-K's & SF's (presumably for the $5 no-W2G crowd), but oddly it is the same on all denominations.

Additionally, my host has sent me a letter telling me that I can get $100 'loyalty cash' on a new program just implemented for the first 1000 points earned every day, and this offer is not expected to end. No points are deducted for this. Also, their Cashback is .25% ($10 thru = 1 point), and the last part of the program is that 'loyal players' now get double Cashback for their first 2000 points every day also. I double-checked it all, and it is all true. You have to ask your host for that double cash-back letter to qualify. They apparently only give it to top (which they call loyal) players.

According to my calculations, that's +1.5% on the first 1000 points earned, and +.5% on the 2nd 1000 points earned, and on top of the full- pay games -- every day! This of course is in addition to any RFB offers, which are very easy to get there. They only have one decent restaurant though--the Hickory Pit Steakhouse.

For food, you can ask a host for a silver card (similar to Boyd properties). Works as line pass and good at all bars and restaraunts but Hickory Pit.

JAN 2004

My mailer had $50 bouncebacks for Jan & Feb. The largest I heard of was $150. IMPORTANT: Loyalty Cash must be claimed
by 11:30 PM (get in line by 11) & redeemed at the cage by 11:59 PM. Play at Colorado Belle does not count in this promo.

JAN 2004

Our Casino Monitor has received information from Kevin McGowen who is the Marketing director at the Edgewater in Laughlin. They have a new loyalty cash program which pays an additional 1% Cashback daily to players using the One Card. This is on top of the regular Cashback program. Also the new special includes any restaurant entree or any Buffet for a 40 point cash out. That means you eat for $1.00, ($400 cash played, without any bonus).

DEC 2003

One club Points expire after 18 mos. Points for One Club players accumulate 24/7. It is hard to find any VP game that is not full pay. Room and food offers sent out to players depending on play

The slot Manager at Colorado Belle is Gary Stevens whom I met with and is going to let us know when he schedules double points days. Both Casinos have slot hosts available 24/7 for groups and tours should contact the casinos for group discounts and comps.

JUL 2003

Comment #1 - I have never been disappointed in the rooms. But, I have always been in the tower.

Comment #2 - I have always been more than satisfied with the rooms.

Comment #3 - I have stayed at the Edgewater many times. It is not the brightest light in Laughlin, but the rooms are clean. The only thing I do not like about them is the noisy air conditioner. I had a bad expierence in the standard (non tower) rooms. The garbage trucks were backing up (beep, beep, beep) every morning about 7AM outside of the window. That is not good when you stagger in about 5AM. They have soap dispensors on the wall, and I never have seen a coffee maker in the room. The walls are not any thinner than any other place. Maybe I have always had quiet neighbors. I have stayed in much worse places, but the Edgewater is certainly not a candidate for a 5 star rating. The steak house is good, the buffet has improved, and they have a nice snack bar. They used to have a grandma type lady that would come around and give out cheese and crackers and fresh cookies. They have full pay VP at the bars, and free entertainment most nights. The casino is always busy, so they must have something going for them. I like the place.
