Points earned on multi-denominational machines are sometimes based on the schedule for the lowest denomination on the machine. In particular, machines with 5c denominations and up seem to register points at the 5c level. You can check a machine by noting the number of your points before you begin to play, playing a specific number of hands, then checking to see how many points registered.

NOV 2007

Room offers will start with as little as $2K a day at MSS. Limited RFB (Silver) kicks in around $10K a day and full RFB (Gold) around $12K to $15K depending on what you play. I play $10K on the DB and am always LRFB. I believe limo service kicks in around $15K to $20K a day. You must talk to a host to get RFB or LRFB it is NOT automatic.

LRFB and RFB is good at restaurants at the Fremont, Cal and MSS. You must play at least 3 times at that level to be eligible though. They are pretty strict on this.

Connect to the internet with your laptop at the WiFi hotspot near the Players' Club. There's also a pay and play computer with internet connection and a printer in the lobby next to the bell desk. Rates are 30c a minute with a $3 minimum (cash or credit card).

Pick up a brochure at the front desk for a self-guided tour of the property's extensive antiques collection displayed throughout the public areas of the hotel and casino. Also, take a look at an authentic piece of the Berlin Wall located in the men's restroom near the buffet. Ladies without a male escort (to clear the area) may ask a host or security for assistance.

Regular visitors/players can expect monthly marketing offers for comped rooms and food, as well as invitations to tournaments and other special events. Hosts are friendly and generous with comps. WARNING: Communicate with hosts in person or by phone; they are infamously slow at responding to email.

OCT 2005

Play 25c FPDW at a daily average of $5,000 - $7,000 a day over 5 trips of 2 to 3 days each. Currently I am down $1,000 at this casino mainly due to no royals. My Offers are for 4 nights anytime, including either x2 or x3 points and either food vouchers or $75/$100 comps. Also get occasional tournament invites to small tourneys.

AUG 2005

I play DB at Main Street and was told last week that I need
$16000 to $18000 coin in a day to retain Gold status.

MAR 2005

I looked at the new bartops at Main Street Station today. They have a 25c/50c/$1 game labeled Bonus Poker but it's really 8/5 JoB with all quads paying 30 instead of 25. Winpoker says this has an return of 98.5%. There's a progressive on the royal and straight flush on this game in all three denominations and also on 9/5 DDB, 8/5 BPDlx and 8/5 DDBP+. Other video poker games on the machines without progressive are 8/5 TDB, 6/5 Super DDB, 8/5/80 WHA and 7/5 Super Aces. All of these are under 99% return at reset. Scratch card report: 7 cards, (3 x $5) + (4 x $2) = $23 Average $3.29 per card.

MAR 2005

The 25c  9/6 JoB bartops are MIA.

OCT 2004

Main Street still has (6) 25c FPDW.

OCT 2004

All of the 25c FPDW are reported as MIA. Confirmation needed.

SEP 2004

The (3) quarter based 25c FPDW nearest the bar are MIA. Downgraded to NSUD.

JUL 2004

Recent reports indicate that status level is no longer determined strictly by coin-in, and that theo considerations
are now an important factor. Coin-in rather than points is used for calculating theo, comps, and VIP levels.

APR 2004

Spent two nights at MSS, and chatted with Annette on Saturday. She was confused on the
slot club day, and from our play I think they may have changed to slot club day to 12-12.

Marketing literature confirms it is midnight to midnight for multiple points.

FEB 2004

I am a $1 player and have gold card status (RFB - Including gourmet restaurants at ALL 3 Boyd downtown casinos)
on play of approx $10 - $12,000 a day. My April offer was for 4x points which is the first I have seen at Main Street.

FEB 2004

MSS's even numbered rooms are on the north or highway side and odd numbered rooms are on the south or Plaza side. Another consideration is distance from the railroad tracks and the earth- shaking rumble of the Union Pacific freight trains. On each floor, lower numbered rooms are on the east end away from the tracks and higher numbered rooms are on the west end or closer to the train noise. Elevation is also a factor so the best choices for noise reduction are rooms on the highest floors that end in 01, 03 or 05. To make it simple, just remember Southeast is the best choice when deciding where in the US to live or where at MSS to sleep. Being high also helps.

DEC 2003

The combined slot card account for California, Fremont and Main Street Station is for cashback points only. Each casino still does their own comps and reward level ratings based on play in that casino, and doesn't give credit for play at one of the other casinos. MSS hotel guests have pool privileges at the California.

DEC 2003

I can verify that the FPDW nickel based machines (both uprights and slant-tops) were awarding points
on the basis of 1 point per $2 coin-in during my stay there last week.

NOV 2003

The slant- top FPDW machines (3 ea) are actually considered 5 cent machines. You can set the pay to quarters but the points will accumulate at one point for every $2 coin-in. I tested the point accumulation versus coin-in and verified the $2 coin-in requirement. Suggest someone else verify this so that the database can be updated.

NOV 2003

I have the following observations from my recent play at MSS:

(1) All joint accounts have been split into individual accounts. My spouse and I now have cards with numbers different by one digit. We cannot get each other's cashback. And we are now getting separate mail offers.

(2) It now takes $1 coin-in to get a point. Slot club attendant told me this and I confirmed it on both the 25c FPDW right-hand uprights and the $1 double bonus slant-tops. Don't know if it is true for all video poker and all slot machines.

(3) 1000 points = $1 Cashback (.1%)

(4) We've been getting double points as we play since at least September 1st. Slot club attendant confirmed this.

(5) Slot club is giving out yet another new, different-looking card.

(6) Points from Fremont, MSS and the California appear to have been finally combined into one balance.

JUN 2003

Silver Card Status requires 3 consecutive stays of at least 3 days each, averaging $5,000 coin-in per day. It includes
food and drink for two at the MSS or Fremont buffet and at the MSS 777 Brew Pub or the Cal coffee shop.

Gold Card Status requires 3 consecutive stays of at least 3 days each, averaging $8,000 coin-in per day.

MAY 2003

$1000 coin-in gets free weekday room offers, and $2000 will get weekend offers also.

APR 2003

Guidelines for silver card is $6,000 a day with non gourmet food + room. Gold is $10,000 a day with full RFB. I average about $6,5000 but I've gotten gold several times. I'm very pleased with them since they lay out what the benifits are. Hosts are accessible; just go to Players Club and they'll page one if someone isn't there. Even if I am on silver I ask and can get a $40 comp to the Pullman. They reduced the standard comp from $50 to $40 per person which is a disappointment.

APR 2003

Triple 7 Brew Pub, that has great food and beer is ALL smoking. Usually not problem to me unless it get crowded.

Hotel rooms are small and lackluster given that the hotel is new. One side has the train, the other the highway. Even on the highest floors you can hear the roar of the highway. The other side has the train but a high floor helps somewhat in this case. I prefer the train side & have switched rooms if I'm on the highway side. One solution I have to deal with noise is to put the fan/AC/heat on high. Very nice white noise! Suites (14) are all on freeway side. Nothing special with two rooms + coffee maker and two TVs.

Buffet is good but needs to put out new dishes & chinese food is not good. Pullman Grill is a wonderful gourmet resturant.

MAR 2003

Lots of offers for out of towner on minimal ($2500 - 3000 per day) play. They don't guarantee non- smoking rooms, even on an invited offer. Overall casino layout is nice and "classy" looking. Rooms are noisy, and have low shower heads. Skywalk over to Cal is nice in bad weather. Buffet is perhaps the best downtown.
