Nevada Palace saying its last goodbyes Nevada Palace will be closing Friday, February 29th at 10:00 p.m. There is no official word on the opening of the Cannery East. Cannery Casino Resorts sold Note from Nevada Palace Casino Monitor: There are no changes in VP machines and I don't believe there will be until the new casino opens. The entire PIT is closed, there are NO table games at all. The Buffet is Closed. The daily Poker Tournament at 10am is still happening. They are slowly scaling down casino employees as well. This is all in anticipation of the new 16-story Cannery East that is in the process of being built. Looks like mid-to-late summer 2008 for the opening of the new Cannery. I will keep you all informed as I receive the information. Eastside Cannery To Replace Nevada Palace The ill conceived Nevada Palace 8x cashback on Saturdays and Sundays has resulted in downgrades for all 9/6 JoB and NSUD. I may have missed some lower denomination machines somewhere as the main focus of my attention was dollars. How sad that again a stupid promotion decision again kills an entire casino's video poker inventory. I found 3 or 4 $1 NSUD machines along the west wall next to the 3/5 play machines. The upright machines with NSUD have the large displays. In Scot's LVA Bonus Points column it says you earn 3X points after earning a minimum 1000 points. I learned today the catch is you earn the 3X points the next day. In other words if you earn 1000 points on Monday or Wednesday, any points you earn the next day on Tuesday or Thursday will be triple. The good news is it is more then the 2X points they used to give. The bad news is it requires two trips to get any benefit. They send out a mailer to everyone in the slot club for one 40-coin bonus on a four of a kind per week. They have a card of the day everyday where four of a kind gets you a 40 coin bonus. They also have a suit of the day, 100-coin bonus for a straight flush and I think a 400 coin bonus for a royal. They pay double on either dealt or sequential royals, I can't remember which but I think it was sequential. |
