The Oasis has about 143 Machines still open to keep the gaming licenses. Nothing playable. The Oasis Casino, Mesquite, NV. Is Closing. As of Dec. 01, Monday morning the tables and pit closed. Tables and chairs were being removed to a van outside. The poker room is still open as of last night. This Friday at Midnight ALL the rest of the Casino will close. The rooms and Vacation condos will remain open as will the Denny's Cafe. Golf Courses will remain open. The announcement includes a lay-off of up to 500 employees. In deed a sad day for the City of Mesquite. The "Player Card Points" at the Oasis can be transferred to the Virgin River or the Casa Blanca Casino's in Mesquite NV. Go to your chosen Casino and ask to make the change. According the the folks at the Players desk you will have 18 months to make the transfer. Bring your photo I.D. For more information go to Mesquitelocalnews.com Black Gaming includes the Casa Blanca Resort, Virgin River Casino and the Oasis Casino, Mesquite Nevada. At all three of the Black Gaming Casino´s the Double and Triple points are now missing. Inventory update: Missing VP games at Casablanca included the progressive 9-6 Double, Double near the player´s desk and the reported Double Deuces near the cage. The rest of the "Full Pay" games continue as reported earlier. The current full pay games are only found in the 25cent level all three Casinos. Free play mailings are now being sent to Players Club cardholders. Amounts are based on past play. This month they offer 50% off at all Black Gaming outlets on all purchased points. Including Cafés, Restaurants, Buffet, Starbucks, Golf, Spa, Salon, and gift shops. (Excludes sundries, tobacco and alcohol). Might be a good time to use up those points on Spa, Play Golf or get that new set of clubs you always wanted. Kathreen´s Steak House continues to be the nicest place for a nice meal. Use your Casa points at Kathreen´s or try Charmine´s Steak House at the Oasis you´ll need Oasis points for the discount over there. Virgin River has a very good $4.95 Prime Rib Dinner in the café. With 50% off thatTMs a bargain at $2.50 use your Virgin River Points. During the first part of the week at the Oasis room comps are easy to get. Be sure to ask if you do not have a coupon. Tee Times are filling up so be sure to call before you plan your trip. Casa Blanca points at the Casa Course and Oasis points at the Palm´s Course. Oasis Resort: Across the isle from the main cage you will find two groups of six VP machines with a large sign on top identifying them as 100% payback. On these marked machines They have DDB at 10-6 Double Bonus at 10-7 9-6 JOB and NSUD's One caution however the 100% payback is only at the 25 cent level. To go up in domination causes the pay-table to change lower and are they are no long playable. Example JOB @ 25 cent level 9-6 Changing to Dollar level now only 8-5. However there are 9-6 JOB now at the bar-tops at both the Music Bar and the Sports Bar. level. These are 9-6 at 25 cent, 50 cent and the Dollar level. There appears to be a major management change at the three properties in Mesquite, Nevada owned by Randy Black. The Casa Blanca, Oasis and the Virgin River are the Mesquite Casinos that could be affected. Randy Black purchased these properties, from his family a few years ago. Then he brought in several top level employees from the Harrahs properties, to help manage the new company he named Tri-Properties. A noticable downgrade of Video Poker paytables promptly followed. Last week it was announced that two of the top ex-Harrah's managers will be leaving the company. It is possible that the change may signal a possible new direction for these three properties. These casinos were player friendly before the addition of the management team from Harrah's. Time will tell if the inventory of Video Poker will be improved now. No full pay Video poker remain at this Black Gaming Casino. The five cent VP machines listed earlier are now missing. They have been replaced with penny silly games. Some of the 25 cent progressive machines reach a payable level sometimes. They have a rapid progressives and may folks play less then full coin. Must of these banks have big signs over them to show the level but the music bar is one that you have to look at the face of the machine to find the progressive level. (6) 25c/50c/$1 MG/MD PKM bartops @ Sports Bar. 5c/10c/25c MG/MD NSUD scattered around casino. $1 9/5 SDB PROG. 5c/10c/25c MG/MD 9/6 JoB scattered around casino. 5c/10c/25c MG/MD 8/5 BP scattered around casino. This Casino also owned by the same company that owns the Casa Blanca. They too have now gone through the same changes as we've seen at the Casa. The Pick A Pair (Pick Em) located in the Sports Bar have now had the pay-tables reduced. The 8-5 Bonus Progressive at the Music Bar also has been reduced to 7-5. ALL NSUD are now Ugly Ducks. The only full pay machines I could find were 6 single line 5 cent, JOB or SA back by the main cage. This casino has now joined the list of "Randy Black's" graveyards for VP. Randy is the owner of three of the Casino's in Mesquite. (10) $1 PROG (0.5% meter) NSUD between the Player's club and hotel registration. The Oasis is also going through major changes in VP inventories. All the 100 and 50 play machines have been reduced from Nickles, Dimes and Quarters to Pennies. One and two cent only and the pay schedule reduce as well. Spin Poker has also been downgraded to nickles and dimes. No more full pay JOB, Super Aces or NSUD in 50/100 play or Spin poker. Some 9-6 JOB (as of Oct. 27th) remain but the way things are going they may also go by the wayside. The Pick A Pair (Pick Em) remain in the bar tops in the Sports bar as report earlier. There will be three time points on Monday thru Thursdays from 6-9 PM and Two time points from 6 AM to 6 PM also on Monday thru Thursday. The kicker it takes $20-coin in for a point. I ask at the Player's desk and they would not tell me or did not know if there will be any special offers like the scratch cards or Card of the day in November. The coin-in on video poker to earn one point was increased from $10 to $20. This has the effect of reducing the comp rate from .4% to .2%. Most of the paytables in Casablanca were changed from NSUD to the 9/4/4/3/2/1 variety...which, if I remember correctly, is below 99%. This is about six weeks after they changed the paytable on a $1 progressive from 10/6 DDB to 9/5 DDB. The $1 Deuces Wild prograssive at the Oasis was also shorted from NSUD to the same paytable as the Casablanca. Casa continues with the 5xpoints Mon-Frid. Midnight until 8AM. Oasis double points Sunday and Thursday. Virgin River triple points on Tuesdays and Eureka 2xpoints on Monday and Weds. This will be the last month of the 5xpoints @ the Casa. Management tried to pull this promo last month but forgot to pull it form the mailers and the local newspaper. Most all machines now TITO. Many of the older VP machines being replaced with 1 cent silly games. However "Pick a Pair" 25, 50 and $1 remain in the Sports bar along with good games reported earlier such as the Dollar NSUD Prog. and the $1 SDB Prog. These are on the floor in the same spot as reported earlier. The first Tuesday of each month is 5X points. COD is still missing. The 25 cent Bonus Poker Prog. at the Music bar is worth watching as it sometime reaches a very nice level. Many just sitting and drinking playing less than Max. coins help's build this pot. 6 new "Pick Two" (Pick Em type machines) have been installed at the "Sports Bar" these are bar tops. The Pick Two (Pick Em) @ are full pay. There are also Dueces Wild and DDB Pick A Pair on these six machines. Bob Dancer's "Strictly Slots Article" list them at over 99%. They did have a card of the day program every day of the week, but it's on hold now. Double the pay out if it is the card of the day. Still 2 X Points on Sunday and Thursdays. They have added 5 X Points all day, First Tuesday, each month. Oasis: 2X's points now on Sundays and Thursdays. Points still worth $4.00 per hundred (1 point for ten dollars on VP) Alan, Casino Host said they have some 5X points days planned but it hasn't been released yet. Last year it was on select machines only and didn't include VP. There has been a major change in ownership at the Casa, Virgin, Oasis. Randy Black has bought out almost all of the other owners. The employees at these locations all seem to think it will be positive for Players as well as employees. 35 Million has been announced for improvements to facilities/rooms including a 200 room tower at the Casa. Oasis has 5c-10c-25c multi denom tito 9/6 jacks - NSUD - 8/5 bonus poker ( through out the casino). There's a $1 9-5 Prog at Oasis in Mesquite with a good meter (no c/b) on older, coin spilling machines. The FPDW progressives at Casablanca near the slot club are all ugly. We checked the rest of the casino and found only a few machines here and there that were NSU (no progressive). So we went to Virgin River, hoping their deuces were still intact. They were, but we were told at the slot club (after our Casablanca card would not read in the machines) that the 2 cards are not the same. We could not use points earned there for rooms, food or golf at Casablanca. As, we have never been before, we don't know when this happened, but we wanted to let you know to update the site. We did not even go into the Oasis, as the site showed only NSU, so unfortunately we can't help there. |
