(4) 25c/50c/$1 MG/MD 99.7% PKM uprights near slot club. (2) 25c NSUD MG slant-tops near poker room. (3) 25c NSUD MG slant-tops on east side of table games towards Golden Gate Casino. (6) 25c/50c/$1 10/8 TDW slant-tops near south snack bar. (6) 25c/50c/$1 10/8 TDW uprights between Keno and escalator to Center Stage Restaurant. (4) 25c/50c/$1 MG/MD 10/8 TDW uprights near Subway. (1) 25c MG (Multi Poker) 9/6 JoB bartop near NW corner of Keno Bar. (3) 5c/10c/25c MG/MD TITO NSUD slant-tops near south snack bar. (3) 5c/10c/25c MG/MD TITO 9/6 JoB slant-tops near south snack bar. (1) 1c/2c/5c/10c/20c/25c (100 Play) NSUD between main cashier and table games. (1) 1c/2c/5c/10c/20c/25c (100 Play) 9/6 JoB between main cashier and table games. < (1) 25c MG (Multi Poker) FPDW bartop near NW corner of Keno Bar. (1) 25c MG (Multi Poker) 10/7 DB bartop near NW corner of Keno Bar. The $1 9/6 JoB only pay 500:1 for a RF. 'PlayLV' to run Plaza, Las Vegas Club, Gold Spike and Western I looked all over and especially around the Keno and the adjacent bar without locating FPDW. I did see the FPDW that pays 1190 for a royal but there was just a deep hole in the bar area. Bartender had no idea if and when it would be put back. As far as I could see, every NSUD and 9/6 JOB in the Winners' Circle was downgraded. Also I could not find the 4 or the 6 MG TITO slant-tops near the slot club at all. I might have missed them though. Another change to the database: the 8 machines with $1 9/6 JOB near the taxi stand entrance are only 6 machines now. Comps are reportedly based on theo. The (1) 25c FPDW upright and 25c 10/7 DB are MIA. Was at the Plaza in late August and played the (4) 5c/10c/25c MG/MD TITO slant-tops in Sportsbook area. Someone reported them mia in error. Get comps at the Player's club on a "Don't ask, won't tell" basis of how they accumulate. The six uprights that were recently reported as being in the Winner's Circle with 5c/25c/50c/$1 JoB etc. are now only nickels. I didn't look thoroughly but I don't know if there are any other 50c or $1 9/6 JoB there at all. The Plaza has 6 more TITO 5c/25c/50c/$1 MGMD with 9/6 JOB, 8/5 BP and 9/6 DDB, uprights in the Winners Circle. Three say "Aces Bonus Poker" and 3 say "Double Double Bonus." The 25c FPDW upright in the Sportsbook area has been moved around the corner against the wall beside the main cashier. I had reservations through a host for last Saturday and Sunday night at the Plaza, with a late check-in on Saturday. Got there around 10 pm and was told that they were completely sold out and no rooms available. I play table games and told them my host's name, they contacted him but could do nothing becasue no rooms were available. Finally gave us a "parlor room", which is half of a suite. They said that it doesn't matter if you reserve room with credit card, it's first come first serve and once they're booked up it's too bad that you have a late plane arrival, you lose out. If you've been waiting to receive the Winter Getaway offers at the Plaza, Las Vegas Club, and/or Gold Spike, don't hold your breath. Unless they change their marketing strategy, there are no plans tocontinue the offers under the new owners. At the Plaza you can still try to obtain a room thru a host (1-800-634-6575 X2425) Also, the Gold Cards for a free night at the Gold Spike are no longer accepted. When I was at the Plaza, at the begining of August, there no longer was the 2x pts. bonus on mondays. I asked long time bartender there, Allen, and I also spoke with the people at the slot-club booth, who confimred it. The photo-key chains are also gone. Pleasure Paks are again available at the main cage. They are the same as they've been in the past, highlights include a $5 MP, Free breakfast, Free spin, Free 7oz beer and $3 off the Diner. Three of the four 25c FPDW uprights and the (4) 5c 9/6 JoB near Mc Donald's are MIA. There are four (4) uprights near Mc Donald's with nickel 9/6 JOB. Not one (1) as reported in the database. There are eight (8)quarter upright multi-game Game King machines with 9/6 JOB inside the "Winner's Circle" which is roughly in the middle of the casino. Cash a government issued check and get a FREE Keno ticket. 5 x points coupon (you pick the day), a Blackjack matchplay, 2 FREE tickets to the Comedy Zone and a FREE bottle of wine with dinner at the Center Stage Restaurant. All of the dollar 9/6 JOB and the (6) 25c 9/6 JoB uprights are MIA. I talked to Jose at Plaza (not sure of his last name) and he told me 2000 points a day gets a free room for that day. You must earn 2000 points on each day. For example 1500 points for 3 days (total of 4500 points) will not get your room comped for any days. The (10) 25c (4700 RF) 9/6 JoB bartops @ the Keno Bar and the (3) 25c (4700 RF) 9/6 JoB bartops @ the Sportsbook Bar are MIA. Their snack bar always has a great beef stew - not thickened, but just beef and fresh veggies in its own juices - a real treat. And cheap!! Smokey and smelly. The place really needs a facelift and smoke eaters. Relatively inexpensive rooms in a good location downtown. Rooms are roomy, but basic. They show a lot of wear. However, when you can nab rooms at $19/night they're certainly worth it. Clean and comfy. The Center stage restaurant is a great place to take visiting relatives or friends. They serve a bone in prime rib. If you make rsvp ask to be seated with a view of the Fremont Street Experience. The 50's style coffee shop is decent and fair priced. I used to stay at the Plaza a lot when I first went to Vegas. The cheap rooms and cheap gambling made it a no brainer. The place is kind of rundown and stinky, but there's something just so damn comfortable about the place. I'd love to see it spruced up, but I'm almost scared it would get "too nice" and table minimums would go up. This place is about gambling and decent value for your buck; something that seems to be dying off in Vegas. I hope the new owners don't screw it up, just clean it up! |
