(4) $1/$2/$5 MD 9/6 JoB uprights just up the stairs from the sportsbook/poker area, across from Opal. Lake Tahoe Horizon - Monte Blu: Can now exchange comps between the two casinos ($50 and up only). Bonus points program still alive at Horizon. -Horizon LDW still there. There are (4) $1/$2/$5 JOB uprights up the stairs from the sportsbook/poker area, across from Opal. (9) $1 MG/MD 9/6 JoB Game King and “MontBleu Keno” near Sportsbook. (4) $1/$2/$5 MG/MD 9/6 JoB Game King uprights near the player’s club. (2) $1 MG/MD (50 Play) 9/6 DDB uprights on main floor by Del Sol restaurant. Same reduction in cash back as the Horizon across the street. It now takes $3 for 1 point reducing cash back to 0.167% Both Montbleu and Horizon were offering $15 in free play for new card members who earned 25 points ($75 coin in). The VP comp rate is 0.25%. *** MIA *** (5) $5 MG/MD (3/5 Play) uprights on main floor in NE corner. $5/$10/$25/$100 9/6 JoB in high-limit area. $1 MG/MD 9/6 JoB slant-top bank along rail (marked Keno) near the slot club. If you had a Caesar’s card, your data is still on file so it only takes 1 minute to get a MB card. However, you are not offered the $5 slot play or $10 table play that “new” members get. So don’t tell if they ask? Flyer says “most cash back on slot play of any gaming club in Lake Tahoe”. Need someone to report some hard data. (9) 25c PKM Game Maker slant-tops near slot club. Was at MontBleu 3/6 Mon for breakfast using up the comps earned under the Caesars Entertainment tenure. Have been in here several times ever since the sale to Horizon's parent & each time the inventory on the floor was being changed. So here's what I've been able to determine: -- Be sure to get a new card. The new cards look exactly like the old cards but have no "connection" to the Caesars/Harrahs slot programs. -- Changes will probably be finished by mid-summer which means any temporary inventory report is just that -- temporary. -- Poker room is being moved over from Horizon & will open up sometime this week. -- Only 2 dining areas now, the Roman Feast buffet/coffee shop & Broiler Room Steakhouse. Everything else is under renovation or gone. Subways is moving to Bill's, the small casino next door. -- Except for restaurant personnel, I haven't seen anybody that looks familiar. Normal MO for this company during new acquisition is to fire then reinterview & rehire. Guess they forgot to do step 2. -- This was the last Tahoe casino with banking slots & now those are gone. I won't miss them, but an era of high-% plays has passed. -- Haven't gone through the whole inventory but what's left isn't encouraging. No pick'em or FP games that I could find. -- The changes so far have been on main casino floor & areas adjacent to it. Old Sportsbook, Planet Hollywood area are under construction & old front & side entrance next to Bills are closed for now so entrance is thru the formal front entrance on US 50 or the side entrances next to parking lots. I think the changes are a plus but then any change to a long-ignored property is a plus. Changes have not yet extended to the back areas like the gift shop or the shops in back of it. All-in-all it's nice to see some money being put into renovation of a tired property. Caeasars Tahoe slot floor had over half the machines removed with just a large bare spot in center of slot floor. Gone are the Pick'Ems & couldn't find any full-pay JBs but who knows what might come back. The $1 Deuces Deluxe are MIA. Just wanted to let you know that there is now only one $1 PE machine near the Cleo bar instead of the reported 5. I checked them all. The one with PE is the one next to the $5 machines at the end of the bank. Confirmed the 1 $2 PE machine, and the 3 $ DWDLX. I wanted to update that $1 Pick Em is alive and well at Caesars Tahoe. There are at least (5) $1 Game Makers by Cleo's Lounge with $1 Pick Em. I didn't see the $2 game, but I may have overlooked it. I also verified the (9) .25 Pick Em games by the slot club and of course the (3) $1 Deuces Deluxe - location and game details are unknown. Caesars Tahoe is still in limbo. Horizon's parent company (can't remember name) wants to buy it but Caesars landlord may exercise option to take it over. Landlord was in casino business many yrs ago but rumors are they will probably not run it as casino but demolish it & redevelop it as timeshares or condos. (From reading local papers, it seems that timeshares escape the taxes that hotels are subject to.) Most likely scenario is that Horizon parent will get it in which case they take over in June. Machine inventory update: All are FPJB in MG/MD: Bank of two upright $ 50-plays FPJB ONLY at $ level - Bank of three upright $5 triple & five-plays FPJB ONLY at $5 level - Bank of two upright $5 triple & five-plays FPJB ONLY at $5 level - All are on the main floor near the $2 progressive bank (8-5 JB) NE corner. Comps are now 1% while cashback is 0.5%. I found some more $1 9/6 JoB machines. New slant top bank along rail marked Keno near the slot club. These are MG/MD. Short pay on all but the $1. I don't know how many machines as they were mostly in use. The other bank near Sportsbook is still there, as are the quarter pick'em, but the $1/$2/$5 are still gone. Caesars Tahoe is now owned by the same group that owns Horizon. Some relief from a Harrahs hegemony. Hope that new owners don't do what happened when they acquired River Palms -- fire & rehire. Tried Primavera restaurant (Italian) for the first time & found the cioppino to be very good. I don't normally go to italian restaurants voluntarily but this is worth going back for & it's the way I like it -- no spicy with lots of seafood. Service was excellent. $1 PKM is mia as of Thanksgiving weekend. The player club card reader for a quarter PKM machine (southside nearest the players booth) was malfunction and gave X4 credit for play. It has been fixed. Cash back has been .50 (and comps .50, but use Shirley Garcia or another exec host) ... and has been for about last 4 or 5 months, with solid bounceback cash mailings (about 45 day intervals) ... Making the MIA PKM at $5, $2, $1 a decent play. The suites are big and roomy with spa, sauna and about 50" rear projection television. Caesars Tahoe Sold There are 9 quarter pick'em machines near the slot club, and the lone $1 machine has had the pick'em removed. There are now 5 $1 pick'em near the entrance to Cleo. The $2 and $5 pick'em are still gone---I think for good. I could not find a single quarter 9/6 JOB level game in the place. I did find some 9/6 JOB at the $1 level in the MG/MD Game Kings in front of the entrance to the Sportsbook. These games will short pay at the .25 and .50 level. They also have 9/6 JOB in the high-limit area in the following denominations: $5, $10, $25, and $100. The $5 and $2 pick 'em at Lake Tahoe were restored on two side by side machines each, but according to a knowledgable local, a team from Sacramento played the $5 machines, and hit so many W2s that casino management got spooked. Rather than barring the team, Caesars removed the Pick 'em. I just returned from a five night stay, and I can confirm that the Pick 'em was removed from both the $5 and $2 machines. Pick 'em still exists at the $1 and $.25 level. The $1 and $5 FP pick'em reported as MIA are there. I played them Monday. The .25 pick'em reported in database are still there, and are marked- game maker Keno machines. There are all .25 except for one $1 on end. I also discovered several old Sigma 9/6 DDJ machines. They are located west of the slot club, near the cashier. I had no luck finding any 9/6 JOB, but I did not look at every - location details unknown. Caesars is reported to have 25c full-pay PKM. The $1/$5 PKM are out of service - malfunctioning problems. |
